    Ley Lines: Understanding the Hidden Streams of Energy in Your Environment

    From New Dawn 171 (Nov-Dec 2018)

    There are a multitude of energy lines traversing the globe – some natural, others man-made. Most of these energy lines have a subtle effect on the human body as we are also made of energy. Some energy frequencies nurture and harmonise our own frequencies, while others disrupt them.

    Collectively, earth energy lines are often connected to ‘geopathic stress’ when they are unbalanced or causing some disruption in the human energy field. These include electromagnetic lines, fault lines, water lines and ley lines. This article focuses on ley lines, a term often confused with other geopathic lines of energy.

    Most other lines are natural to the earth, can move in a meandering way like a river, and have no intentional purpose towards humans (even though we can benefit from their energy). Ley lines can often be found in conjunction with these lines, however a ley line is always straight, is man-made in some way, and has a purpose of communication.

    There are three types of ley lines: global, local and personal. Global and local ley lines are usually created intentionally, often using physical objects to transmit energy and are focused to communicate to the wider community or environment. Personal leys tend to be unconsciously sent to an individual. Even though these leys are unintentionally sent, personal ley lines stay with the person or in the environment until intentionally cleared.

    Alfred Watkins

    The term ley lines was first used by Englishman Alfred Watkins in 1921, when he discovered natural features such as trees or mountain tops, connecting in straight lines with man-made features, such as old churches, sign posts and wells, spanning across the English countryside. He theorised that these man-made markers were for the purpose of travelling vast distances, like a guide map. These lines were of a more physical nature to communicate direction for travel. Since then, geomancers have discovered many leys can also be purely of an energetic nature, but still form some sort of communication purpose.

    Some global and local ley lines also follow the paths of the Earth’s natural energy lines, drawing on the natural energy for their own purpose. The ley will always be intentionally positioned and communicating something. For example, church builders may have been attracted to a building site because of the energy in the land, such as underground water lines or electromagnetic lines. The pulpit may be placed above the nature energy to boost the message, which is sent out through the man-made ley line. The ley line is built connecting the pulpit in a straight line with upright stones, other churches or the town’s well, to subtly spread the ‘word’ throughout the community. A ley line usually has a minimum of three markers relaying the message (often large quartz filled rocks, as quartz can store and transmit information).

    The master builders of the gothic cathedrals created vast entrances using geometry to inspire awe and used sound technology to resonate chanting to evoke emotional responses. Is it that hard to believe that at some point in our past we knew how to send subtle communications and evoke emotional responses through the air and ground? (Well, we do now – it’s called the World Wide Web on Wi-Fi!)

    On a global scale it is unknown who set up the ley lines or what is being communicated. In Sacred Geometry of the Earth: The Ancient Matrix of Monuments and Mountains (reviewed in New Dawn 158) authors Mark Vidler and Catherine Youngshow global alignments of natural features such as mountains and coastlines mainly forming triangular shapes. Where a natural feature didn’t form a triangle an ancient man-made structure was usually found. These included mounds, henges or buildings, as well as sacred sites, such as the Great Pyramid of Giza, Stonehenge, the Carnac stones and Angkor Wat. Why did someone want to make geometric shapes that span continents?

    According to Hermetic literature and the Dome Theory, dome shaped energies were sent down from spaceships spreading love and light via ley lines around the world. This energy was to aid in the evolution of humanity.1 Ancient man or aliens – whoever built these leys or what they were communicating remains a mystery.

    There is a theory that the Great Pyramid may have been an electrical power generator using the obelisks to wirelessly send electricity around the globe. The great inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla also tried to send electricity wirelessly with his power generators rumoured to be situated on ley lines. Perhaps the hundreds of quartz filled, large standing stones at Carnac, France, are just an ancient world telephone exchange!

    Ley lines on a local level radiate from places of worship, town halls, governments or palaces into the community to communicate messages from the ‘powers that be’ to the unsuspecting townsfolk. The most famous local ley line is the St. Michael Ley in England. This ley connects many sites dedicated to St. Michael and follows the path of the sun on the 8th May, St. Michael’s day. This ley also intersects with leys in France and Greece.

    St. Michael Ley in England which also matches with a St. Mary current of energy, representing the sacred union of the divine feminine and masculine.

    Both the French and the English leylines have clear signs of prehistoric activity along its path (such as the Hurlers, Glastonbury, Avebury, Waulad’s Bank, Dol-de-Breton), and also ancient traditions of celebrating with fires on beacon-hills on may-day (St. Michael’s day), all of which reinforce the idea of a ‘functional’ and operative alignment with prehistoric roots. Both alignments also include numerous churches and pilgrimage points dedicated to St. Michael (Apollo), that were ‘reinforced’ throughout the middle-ages by the church. One suspects that an ancient tradition has been passed on either knowingly or unsuspectingly during the Pagan/Christian conversion of Europe.2

    Not all local leys are used for manipulation or brainwashing; some can have a beneficial effect such as feelings of peace and for healing. For thousands of years people poured energy into these lines via the various temples and places of worships (like relay towers), making the energy lines stronger. A very spiritual place is where the Apollo and Athena leys (named as their temples lay along the line) cross at Notre Dame Sous La Terre, France.

    Australia’s Aborigines have ‘songlines’ which map out vast tracks across Australia. These help to physically navigate the landscape just as Watkins thought the purpose of leys were in England – signposts. The songlines are not straight or man-made, therefore do not fit the definition of a ley line, however the Aborigines in their sacred wisdom do have some way of sending specific messages instantly between peoples over vast distances.

    Most local leys are hundreds of years old, however this technology is still being used today. Search the Internet for leys in Australia and you will find suspected links between Canberra to the Vatican through Pine Gap; a HAARP installation at Exmouth WA linked to its installation in Alaska and to Canberra, intentionally situated to promote mind control or for influencing the weather.3

    Many local and global ley lines have been charted (especially in England where ‘ley-hunting’ has been a craze since Watkins’s time) but they are often confused with being either part of the natural environment or simply sign posts for travel. The larger purpose of intentional communication has not been fully grasped. These ley lines may draw on the Earth’s natural lines of energy for power, but the emotion or thought they are carrying has been inputted at some time by outside influences.

    Another characteristic of ley lines is that their energetic blueprints stay in the environment, even if the initial structures are long gone, still holding and possibly transmitting the ‘message’.

    Global grid points (marking ley lines) based on the UVG Planetary Grid model of William Becker & Bethe Hagens. Grid point 44 links to Wilpena Pound, the Flinders Ranges, South Australia, known for its unusual geological formations.

    Energy Cords & Personal Ley Lines

    Personal ley lines can also use structures to relay messages; they tend to target a person through their bed, stove or computer. One of the main differences with personal ley lines is that they are usually unintentionally transmitted, whereas local and global ley lines are more consciously laid out (although some personal ones are conscious and may be vice versa for the larger ones).

    Energy lines between people, often referred to as ‘cords’, occur in a personal, emotional relationship, such as between lovers or parent and child. Similar to ley lines, they transmit emotions (positive and negative) and have to be energetically removed. These cords attach to the body usually through the chakra system, are created by interpersonal relationships, and can last forever. Personal ley lines can be sent from anyone, from anywhere around the world and affect the person through objects as well as being sometimes attached to the body. Personal leys usually attach to a person’s bed affecting rest and rejuvenation, the oven to restrict nourishment, or the computer to upset business or mental pursuits. Cords can be positively based, such as sharing a love bond, or negative with one person draining the energy from another. All personal ley lines I have ever found during my Geomancy work, using dowsing, have had a negative impact on the person and have to be removed. This may be a subtle draining of energy and health over a long time or have an immediate physical effect, depending on the initial event that set-up the ley and the amount of emotion fed into it.

    The most dramatic situation I encountered was with a vet nurse in her thirties who developed severe arthritis in her wrist and knee joints. She suffered with this condition for three months, trying many different remedies to no avail. I found a ley line hitting her bed and oven, which was being sent unconsciously by a lady whose cat had been put down at the vet. The vet nurse had become the focal point for the cat owner’s grief. Together we sent loving energy back down the ley to the cat owner, thus closing the ley. The next morning the arthritis was gone, never to return.

    Other leys are more subtle; another client had a personal ley line hitting her bed and oven, sent by her ex-husband of more than twenty years ago. They had married young and weren’t together long, but the husband was obviously disgruntled at being left for her current husband, thus unknowingly creating this ley line. The ley line wasn’t very strong, but had stayed with the lady for 20 years, moving with her through a number of addresses and after having three children with her new husband. The ‘communication’ of this ley was depleting her relationship energy; six months after clearing the ley the lady felt that her relationship with her husband had become “stronger and somehow more connected.”

    Many years ago when running New Age events, I had a ley line hitting my computer from a local church group. They were against my business (not that they understood anything about what I was doing!). This ley line was unintentional as the group didn’t purposefully create the line; however they did intend to send negative energy in their prayers to shut me down. They were not targeting me personally, thus the bed and oven were not affected. I experienced a week of setbacks, miscommunications and foggy thinking about my business before I thought to dowse for some clues as to what was going on, thus finding and clearing the ley line. If this ley line had continued, whether the group kept feeding energy into it or not, it would have greatly affected my business.

    Some personal ley lines are created by a one-off strong emotional event, but most are created by constantly feeding emotion towards a person. The worrying thing about the above situation for me was that there was a small group of people sending out negative thoughts and emotions (or asking their god to do it) intentionally to disrupt my business. I closed the ley by sending love and light back to the church group (after I had calmed down and centred myself!).

    Personal ley lines can travel with a person as they move residences and can also be left on a property from a previous resident, thus affecting the new homeowners. I’m not sure if they duplicate for this purpose or if some move and others don’t depending on the energy being sent through them. Most ley lines I have cleared from houses have been directed at past owners, therefore I am unsure if a line still connects to those people or not. Leys can also travel over any distance; time and space do not influence these energy lines. The shortest ley I have encountered was only a few meters long, starting from one desk in an open office space to another desk. The manager confirmed encountering trouble between these two workers.

    Dennis Toop, a dowser from South Australia with over 50 years experience, remotely checks for and clears personal ley lines, through his business The Property Healer (www.thepropertyhealer.com). Dennis’s focus is helping property owners balance the energy of their homes ready for sale. He defines ley lines as:

    …set up by people’s thoughts about another person or group of people. For example, a business owner may be in conflict with an employee who thinks negatively about them, thereby setting up a dowseable negative ley line. On the other hand, a positive ley line could be set up by someone thinking fondly of their child living in another suburb. For most houses strong, personal and negative ley lines are the most problematic. I’ve found ley lines can be from a single source, e.g. any place where people are stressed; airports, hospitals, funeral homes, old folks homes, mental institutions; these just radiate out into the surroundings. If you happen to sit in your lounge chair in one of these you will feel depressed. I find that this is the chair no one sits in but have no idea why. Ley lines are so important regarding the vibe of any property and relate to past human interactions which explains what people are picking up on, once put in place they just seem to stay in place until another thought cancels it out.

    As the universal law goes, “what you send out, you get back multiplied,” therefore it is not only the recipient of the ley line that is being affected but also the sender. Ley lines become stronger when constant thoughts are channelled into them, e.g. “I hate you,” “Why did you do this to me?,” “I’ll never forgive you,” “I hope you suffer,” etc. The intention may not be to really harm a person, you’re just angry or worrying, but a ley line may occur that stays with both you and the recipient forever, draining both your energies. If you intentionally send a ley line to harm someone, then it will rebound on you as well.

    BALANCING LEY LINES

    Don’t worry about global ley lines; they are still a mystery, working on some larger scale and don’t affect us personally. If you have a local church or other authoritarian institution nearby you suspect of emitting local ley lines, you can consciously or physically place a barrier between your house, facing the institution, with the intent of stopping any subtle communications. In Feng Shui they use a bagua mirror (an eight sided shape with symbols and a round mirror in the centre, see example on right) to reflect back any negative energy. I have one in my back window facing the local church.

    To clear a personal ley line from your property (either directed at you or left by past occupants) stand at the end of your bed, oven or computer visualising a line of energy coming in. Then send loving energy back down the line with the intent of closing the ley. You do not need to know from whom the ley came from to be able to clear it. As most ley lines are sent unconsciously, without intent to harm, sometimes it is best not to know who it has come from. Dennis uses “an impeccable thought,” utilising gratitude and love to clear the ley. As Dennis mentions, if you send negativity down the ley it may not close, but make it stronger. Ley lines do not clear themselves; they are created by emotions and mental thoughts and must be cleared in the same manner, with higher frequency emotions and mental thoughts, i.e. love.

    If you suspect that you may have created a ley line in the past, visualise the ley line running from your heart chakra to the other person. Consciously send love and gratitude (and maybe an apology for setting up the ley) with the intention of closing the ley. Similar visualisations are used to clear the cords between people, e.g. in your mind’s eye, meet the person on the beach, say what you want to say, send love and thanks, see the cord connecting you both and sever it.

    Basically, pure loving energy will always cancel out the negative. There has only been once that I didn’t send love. After the publication of my first article in New Dawn, over three years ago, an intentional ley line was sent to my computer. It was sent from an organisation in America to ‘just keep tabs’ on my writing. I sent them back laughter and thanks for thinking I could be that interesting! This also demonstrates another point about personal ley lines – the sender does not need to know physically where you are to send negative energy.

    It may be difficult to imagine a world full of varying energy lines that are impacting on all areas of your life, but in another case of man imitating nature, we have the Internet. Think of global leys as the World Wide Web (they are just there), local leys as Google, Facebook or Amazon (institutions trying to spread their message to the wider community) and personal leys as text messages or Instagram (between people). By being consciously aware of ley lines and clearing them from your home allows you to stop the subtle manipulation by others impacting your life, and to maintain your own energetic integrity.

    Home Apothecary: Oils, Rocks & Fungi – What Did Your Nanna Have In Her Medicine Cabinet?

    From New Dawn Special Issue Vol 11 No 5 (Oct 2017)

    Natural substances that were once abundantly used for health and well-being are making a comeback today. All are easily and cheaply obtained from the local supermarket, chemist or hardware store.

    Castor Oil

    Castor oil is derived from the castor bean plant, aka Palma Christie. It has been used since ancient Egyptian times and in many Ayurvedic medications. Castor oil supports the immune system as it contains a very dense source of ricinoleic acid (an unsaturated fatty acid), increases the count of T-11 cells (white blood cells) and boosts lymphocyte production. It helps detox by supporting the lymphatic system, increases blood circulation, and supports the digestive system while reducing viruses, bacteria, yeasts and moulds.

    Applied topically, castor oil can help ease pain while promoting the healing of internal organs. Edgar Cayce advocated the use of Castor Oil Packs – applying castor oil to painful areas with a heat source (specific instructions can be found at www.edgarcayce.org). Rub into the stomach for digestive disorders, on the kidneys for infection and pain, on the neck for lymphatic drainage or over the adrenal glands to fight fatigue. Its anti-inflammatory properties help ease joint pain by simply rubbing it into the joint and applying a hot water bottle.

    Castor oil kills toenail fungus within days and has been used with a pinch of baking soda to remove cysts, warts, corns and moles. Absorbed easily through the skin, it has also been known to dissolve internal cysts in the ovaries. It helps any skin inflammation, including acne, while also used as a beauty product to nourish the skin and hair (reduces dandruff and scalp infections).

    Taken internally, castor oil is a mild laxative and helps regulate hormone levels, such as estrogen. It has been used to lessen PMS and menopause symptoms while reducing fatigue, mood swings and depression. It should not be taken during pregnancy, as it can induce labour.

    Cod Liver Oil

    This nutrient-dense source of vitamin A, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids has been a favourite of grandmas all over the world for general well-being. Oiling the ‘creaks’ from the inside, cod liver oil is an excellent anti-inflammatory. It plays an important role in maintaining cardiovascular, immune, reproductive, hormonal and neurological health.

    Cod liver oil has been reported to lower cholesterol and high blood pressure, treat depression and anxiety while reducing risks of heart disease, arthritis, autoimmune disease, kidney disease and eye disorders. Omega-3 fatty acids keep the brain sharp and are particularly helpful for children struggling at school. Cod liver oil has one of the richest sources of vitamin D and works with calcium to provide good bone health, prevent cancer, and vital for proper cognitive health.

    In inflammatory conditions such as arthritis, cod liver oil reduces swelling, stiffness and pain. Used during pregnancy and lactation, cod liver oil has helped produce healthier babies and been linked to higher brain development. As it nourishes the brain, cod liver oil has also been found helpful in preventing Alzheimer’s disease.

    Epsom Salt

    Epsom salt is a natural mineral compound of magnesium sulphate (MgSO4 – magnesium, sulphur and oxygen), three essential elements required for a healthy body. Magnesium and sulphur are readily absorbed through the skin, therefore taking an Epsom salt bath is the most beneficial way to ease tired muscles and release stress. Add one to two cupfuls of Epsom salt to your bath and soak for 20 minutes. Stress drains the body of magnesium and increases adrenaline levels. Absorbing the magnesium from Epsom salt lowers the effects of adrenaline, helps lower blood pressure, creates a relaxed feeling, improves sleep and concentration, reduces inflammation while helping muscles and nerves to function properly. Sulphates improve the absorption of nutrients, flush toxins from the body and help ease migraine headaches. A foot bath can also be beneficial – add ½ cup to a bowl of warm water.

    As magnesium and sulphur are essential to hundreds of bodily functions, Epsom salt can enhance your health in hundreds of ways: helps prevent the hardening of arteries and blood clots, makes insulin more efficient, enhances electrical impulses of the nerves, reduces muscles cramping and restless legs, relieves the symptoms of arthritis and gout. Taken internally, Epsom salt cleanses the colon, thus having a laxative effect. A few sprinkles can be added to your water bottle to sip throughout the day.

    Caution: As Epsom salt detoxifies the body, you may feel drained of energy, dizzy or experience a healing crisis to begin with.

    Activated Charcoal

    Activated charcoal is the resulting medical-grade carbon made from slow burning wood. Charcoal adsorbs (rather than absorbs) toxins from the body by attracting them electrostatically. ¼ – 1 teaspoon in a glass of water is sufficient for most health problems, however, a tablespoon portion can be used as a first aid remedy for poisoning.

    Activated charcoal has been used internally to treat diarrhoea, IBS, stomach flu, bloating and gas, infections, body odour and for detoxing. Take two hours away from medications, as it may adsorb them. Also, drink lots of water to avoid constipation.

    Charcoal can be made into a poultice to draw out toxins from the skin. A poultice is useful for insect bites, food poisoning, pain, swelling, ovarian cysts, canker sores, tooth abscess and haemorrhoids. Gauze pouches or patches can be made to apply charcoal to the skin to draw out impurities, e.g. for leg ulcers, tea bags and sanitary pads have been used for this purpose.

    Baking Soda

    Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is useful for alkalising the body. Too much acidity causes many illnesses that baking soda can help relieve. Mix ½ – 1 teaspoon of soda in a glass of water until fully dissolved; drink first thing in the morning. This can help with stomach issues, such as pain, gas, bloating and heartburn. Balancing the pH levels of the body aids kidney function which have difficulty processing acids. Take a ¼ teaspoon of soda in water half an hour after meals to avoid heartburn, indigestion and acid reflux (or take when the attack occurs).

    Sodium bicarbonate helps dissolve uric acid, the main cause of gout, and lactic acid that builds up with strenuous exercise to cause muscle pain. Baking soda is easily absorbed through the skin, therefore a foot bath for gout or full bath (add 1 cup) for aching muscles is beneficial. Baths can also help relieve itchy skin, shingles, insect bites and dermatitis, or mix a little soda with water to make a paste to apply directly onto the itchy area.

    If you are already eating an alkaline diet of fresh vegetables or drinking alkaline water, do not use bicarb as too much can alter the hydrochloric acid needed in the stomach for proper digestion; it’s about balancing the pH levels.

    Boron

    Borax is a naturally mined compound containing sodium, boron, oxygen and hydrogen. Boron is a trace mineral which has vital functions in the body. It has an alkalising effect and has been used to treat fungus, candida, ringworm, tinea, hormone imbalances, autoimmune disease, calcium deposits, bone spurs, osteoporosis and insomnia. Boron is an excellent healer of arthritis; there have been correlations made between low boron levels in the soil to high rates of arthritis, and vice versa, from all around the world. Boron is needed in the body for the proper absorption and functioning of calcium, magnesium and phosphorous – essential for healthy bones. It also helps memory and cognitive function.

    To make a borax tonic, add a heaping teaspoon to a litre of water as your base solution. Then take one teaspoon of this solution once or twice a day with food (provides about 30mg of borax / 3mg of boron per dose).1 Applied topically in a bath or poultice, borax can be used for skin irritations, fungal infections, nits and scalp problems; also on dogs to treat mange.

    In Australia, Borax is considered toxic (about the same as table salt). Do not use in high doses or with children. Borax can be found in the laundry aisle of the supermarket or hardware store. For more information go to www.health-science-spirit.com/borax.htm

    Lectric Soda

    Lectric Soda, soda crystals or sodium carbonate is a naturally mined limestone also found in the laundry aisle (same as Borax). It has been used for over 50 years to draw fluids away from the body, thus reducing swelling. In recent years soda crystals have made their way into the sports medicine section of the chemist to relieve aching muscles, to rejuvenate after strenuous exercise, accelerate sports recovery, as well as drawing fluid away from swollen joints. The soda crystals can be added to a bath or foot bath; sodium can help relieve sciatica.* To draw fluid away, an old sock or nappy was filled with crystals, tied around the swollen joint and left overnight. In the morning the sock will be full of fluid. Nowadays, special wrappings are available, with pockets for the crystals (in the sports medicine section of chemists).

    Blackstrap Molasses

    Molasses is a by-product of the processing of sugar cane. Blackstrap molasses, from the third boiling of the sugar cane, is the strongest type of molasses because it is so concentrated with nutrients. It contains calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, phosphorous, zinc, manganese, selenium, pantothenic acid, thiamine (vitamin B1), Vitamin B2, niacin (B3), vitamin B6, amino acids and linoleic acid. As a nutrient dense food, it has been used for many ailments caused by nutrient deficiencies, such as anaemia, heavy menstrual bleeding, fibroids, acne, arthritis, grey hair, hair loss, constipation, low energy, hot flushes, headaches, anxiety, restless leg syndrome, nose bleeds, weight loss and sugar cravings. It has also been mixed with baking soda to help treat cancers.

    Blackstrap molasses can be taken by the spoonful, but be warned it is very strong tasting. Use it in cooking or add a tablespoon to warm water for a drink. As the vitamins and minerals are naturally occurring, the body readily absorbs them better than capsules or tablet supplements.

    Apple Cider Vinegar

    Apple cider vinegar (ACV) is made from raw apples, with the purest form still containing the ‘mother’ (stringy parts of apple). It has been hailed a miracle cure as it has hundreds of health benefits. Our modern day diet leads to over acidity in the body that can be the root cause of many ailments. ACV helps alkalise the body, improves digestion, balances mineral intake, binds with enzymes to metabolise fats and carbohydrates, is antifungal and antibacterial, stimulates the immune system and contains the prebiotic Pectin, enzymes and minerals, e.g. potassium and magnesium. Here are just some of the conditions ACV can benefit: heartburn, reflux, diarrhoea, shingles, warts, eczema, nail fungus, constipation, high blood pressure, dandruff, sinus infection, gout, high cholesterol, diabetes, hives, insect bites, PMS, arthritis, low energy, colds, fever, cramps and sprains. Taken internally, ACV reduces inflammation and has been known to relieve the pain of plantar fasciitis in the foot within days.

    When using topically, dilute ACV by 50% with water. For general well-being, take a 15-20ml shot in the morning; two tablespoons a day is a rough guide. For weight loss or digestive issues, take an ACV shot half an hour before meals. ACV can be added to your water bottle to sip throughout the day or made into a hot drink with lemon and honey. Nanna’s recipe for arthritis: 2 teaspoons of ACV, 2 teaspoons of honey in a glass of water, at each meal sipped.

    Kombucha

    Kombucha tea is a fermented drink containing living bacteria, organic acids, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and probiotics. It is primarily used for good gut health – killing bad yeasts and pathogenic bacteria in the digestive tract while increasing enzyme and nutrient content in foods. Kombucha tea is made by combining tea, sugar and the starter culture, known as ‘Scoby’ (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast), then allowed to ferment. Scoby is also referred to as a culture, fungi or mushroom, but these terms are not strictly accurate.

    Reports of Kombucha tea usage date back thousands of years; it was known as the ‘elixir of long life’ during the Tsin Dynasty of the Chinese Empire in 221 BCE; used by a Korean medicine man named Kombu to treat the Japanese Emperor Inkyo’s disorders in 14 CE; carried by Japanese warriors in mediaeval times for greater energy; used in Russian folk medicine for maintaining health. Kombucha tea made a revival as a health tonic in the 1960s, easily brewed at home. Traditionally, the ‘mushroom’ was gifted to you from a fellow brewer; the initial mushroom ‘mother’ produces ‘sons’ during the brewing process. Kits containing Scoby can be found at health food stores or online. Kombucha tea can now be found ready-made on supermarket shelves.

    Drinking Kombucha tea is said to bring balance to the body, which in turn aids in the recovery of many different illnesses. The most commonly observed effects include:

    • Balancing the metabolism
    • Cleansing the blood and regulating the acid/alkaline levels in the body
    • Improving liver, gall bladder and digestive function
    • Detoxifying the body and enhancing the immune system
    • Raising energy levels.

    For general well-being, three wine glasses (150ml) of tea is recommended daily; one first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, then one each with lunch and dinner.

    Kombucha can be applied topically to soothe and heal skin conditions such as eczema, and taken internally it fortifies the body aiding in the recovery from such conditions. Compresses made with the tea have been used successfully to reduce the pain of rheumatoid arthritis in the joints. The tea can help remove brown liver spots from the hands; apply twice a day with cotton wool. A Kombucha bath can be used to energise the whole body, treat skin conditions and improve general well-being; add half a litre to a warm bath.

    The Scoby can be used to heal wounds such as leg ulcers, abscesses and boils. Cut a piece of the Scoby from the fermenting jar and bandage it onto the wound; cover surrounding skin firstly with a barrier cream, as the Scoby may irritate normal skin. Or make your own cream by crushing some Scoby with an electric blender, then combine with unperfumed hand cream (ratio: 1 part Scoby to 2 parts hand cream).

    Kombucha tea can be gargled to help heal throat and mouth infections. Gargling ten times a day has helped tonsillitis while swishing around the mouth for 15 minutes has helped heal intestinal diseases and nasal cavity inflammations. Make a steam inhalation by adding 1 cup of tea to a bowl of steaming water. Cover your head and bowl with a towel to breathe in the steam; use for colds and sinusitis relief. A nasal spray can be made by mixing equal parts of water and tea placed in a small spray bottle.

    Studies have been done with high-performance athletes in Russia, drinking a ¼ litre of tea, three times a day. Performance was enhanced while muscle aches and recovery times were reduced due to the tea’s ability to lessen the salt component of lactic acid (the cause of muscle soreness as a result of strenuous exercise).

    KOMBUCHA RECIPE

    Ingredients & materials:

    1 Kombucha Scoby – starter culture

    2 litre of boiling water

    2-4 black tea bags (or loose leaf)

    1 large glass jar or bowl

    1 cotton muslin cloth

    1 tea towel

    1 rubber band / elastic

    Method

    Bring water to the boil

    Add tea bags and sugar, brew for 10-15 mins

    Remove tea bags and pour into glass jar

    Cool to room temperature

    Add vinegar or ‘mother tea’

    Add Scoby (do not add culture to hot liquid as this will kill it)

    Scoby can lay anywhere within the mixture

    Cover with muslin and secure with elastic, cover with tea towel to keep out light

    Store in a dark, ventilated space, e.g. cupboard

    Ferment for 5-10 days (depends on temperature)

    Taste should be neither sweet or sour – if sweet, leave for a few more days, if sour it is still usable, just don’t leave as long next time

    When ready, remove ‘mother’ and separate any ‘sons’ that have formed onto a plate

    Strain beverage into bottles, refrigerate

    Keep 200ml for next brew

    Start your next brew using the ‘mother’ (up to 8 times) or ‘son’ if thick and healthy

    If not making another brew immediately, store Scoby in an airtight container covered with Kombucha brew, in the fridge. Ensure there is air space between the culture and the lid. Can be stored for up to 6 months.

    Other types of tea can be used, e.g. green tea or herbals. Experiment by adding fruits or herbs to the final brew.

  • You Can Heal Your Life: Identifying the Beliefs & Emotions Causing You Pain and/or Illness

    You Can Heal Your Life: Identifying the Beliefs & Emotions Causing You Pain and/or Illness

    From New Dawn Special Issue Vol 13 No 4 (Aug 2019)

    Our emotions and beliefs form our world. They are the basis for everything we manifest into our lives. Our beliefs are formed over time by our family, upbringing, culture, governments, media, schools, friends and general society. We are often unaware of what deep seated beliefs we hold.

    Emotions are an in-the-now expression of our inner beliefs, e.g. the same event can cause one person to feel anger, another sadness, or for a different person no emotional reaction. We often think of emotions as an innate reaction, something we have no control over. However, we can consciously choose to change our emotions and how we react to certain situations through positive thought, which in turn changes our beliefs. Our subconscious (where our beliefs reside) has no judgment or understanding of ‘good’ or ‘bad’; it simply draws to us experiences that support our beliefs. Henry Ford once said, “If you believe you can, or believe you can’t, you are right.”

    General negative emotions and beliefs cause general ill health. Anger can cause chemical reactions in the body to produce an acidic environment that welcomes viruses to take up residence. An acidic diet can also bring on anger; some people are attracted to acidic producing foods in the first place by holding an underlying belief such as, “I’m not worthy of health or happiness.” Germs aren’t the bad guys; it is the environment in which the germs thrive that cause the problems,1 which are directly connected to our emotions.

    Specific medical issues can be connected to specific beliefs, e.g. rheumatism comes from feeling victimised, resentment, lack of love and chronic bitterness.2 An illness or pain is your body’s final warning that something is wrong and needs to be treated on the physical level. However, if the emotional cause behind the illness or pain is not addressed, the physical symptoms will return over time.

    Positive emotions, such as joy and gratitude, bring healing energy to the body. Having a good laugh or thinking of something that makes your heart go ‘ahh’ is the best medicine for your body and spirit. Positive thoughts, gratitude and affirmations are very powerful when repeated over time for improving health and wellbeing.

    The Hawaiian practice of healing and forgiveness, Ho’oponopono,3 suggests we repeat the phrase, “I’m sorry, forgive me, thank you, I love you,” wherever negative emotions arise. “I’m sorry” is an acknowledgement that you created pain or caused errors. “Forgive me” for not knowing this was inside you. “Thank you” for allowing yourself to release and cleanse the memory. “I love you” is directed to your inner being. This is a very empowering exercise.

    The body directs us to negative beliefs and emotions by how and where it exhibits pain and illness.

    Louise Hay (1926–2017) was an American motivational author and the founder of Hay House. She authored several New Thought self-help books, including the 1984 best seller, You Can Heal Your Life.

    One of the best systems I have found to identify and rectify health problems is the work of Louise Hay (1926–2017). For over forty years she shared her knowledge of positive thinking. Louise’s work is based on using positive affirmations to change your inner beliefs. She suggested that by repeating these affirmations over and over, seeds are planted in your subconscious for new beliefs to blossom. Love Your Body came out in the mid 1980s with affirmations for each specific body part. You repeat one affirmation each day, taking note of any negative emotions that arise. Then go back to these problem areas and work specifically with them for a few months. The subconscious needs at least a month of constant repetition to plant those seeds of change. When doubts and fears arise, Louise suggests we acknowledge they are old limiting beliefs that no longer have power over us, and say “Out! I no longer need you.”

    Some examples from Love Your Body:

    I Love My Neck – I willingly turn to acknowledge other viewpoints and other ways of doing things. I am willing to change. I choose thoughts that keep me flexible in my ideas and in my creative expression. I express myself freely and joyously. I am safe. I love and appreciate my beautiful neck!

    I Love My Toes – My toes are inspectors of the future, going before me to clear the way. They are straight, flexible and strong. They reach out, feeling and finding the perfect pathway in life. I choose the thoughts that protect my pathway. As I move forward, all details take care of themselves. I love and appreciate my beautiful toes!

    You can also use the book for information on acute conditions, e.g. if you have a sore neck, ask yourself if there is some viewpoint you are ignoring or if you are being inflexible. Sometimes just acknowledging the emotional cause can help clear the physical symptom.

    Louise’s book Heal Your Body was first published in 1976 listing ailments, possible causes and affirmations. This is my most used resource from my hundreds of books, with my 1988 edition falling to pieces! The insights into the emotional causes of illness are still as relevant today as when they were first written. Here are some examples:

    Abdominal cramps = Fear. Stopping the process. = I trust the process of life. I am safe.

    Acne = Not accepting the self. Dislike of the self. = I am a Divine expression of life. I love and accept myself where I am right now.

    Gum Problems = Inability to back up decisions. Wishy-washy about life. = I am a decisive person. I follow through and support myself with love.

    Heart Attack = Squeezing all the joy out of the heart in favour of money or position etc. = I bring joy back to the centre of my heart. I express love to all.

    Indigestion = Gut-level fear, dread, anxiety. = I digest and assimilate all new experiences peacefully and joyously.

    Migraines = Dislike of being driven. Resisting the flow of life. Sexual fears. = I relax into the flow of life and let life provide all that I need easily and comfortably. Life is for me.

    Overweight = Fear, need of protection. Running away from feelings. Insecurity, self rejection. Seeking fulfilment. = I am at peace with my own feelings. I am safe where I am. I create my own security. I love and approve of myself.

    Skin problems = Anxiety, fear. Old, buried gunk. I am being threatened. = I lovingly protect myself with thoughts of joy and peace. The past is forgiven and forgotten. I am free in this moment.

    Here is one of Louise’s daily general affirmations: “Everything I need to know is revealed to me. Everything I need comes to me. All is well in my life.” Imagine how wonderful life could be if this affirmation was the basis for you creating your day. My personal affirmation is, “I am happy, healthy, wealthy and wise,” and on most days I achieve at least one of these goals!

    In her book The Secret Language of Your Body, Inna Segal, a Melbourne based healer and teacher, also lists body parts, medical conditions and possible emotional causes similar to Louise Hay’s work. However, instead of using affirmations, Inna advises to ask your ‘Divine Healing Intelligence’ for help, in combination with visualisations. This phrase is an acknowledgement that you have created the negative health condition and you have the power and means to heal it.

    For example, gums represent being unsure of yourself or decisions you have made, procrastinating, not following through on projects, being too demanding or selfish or a refusal to change. Remedy: Close your eyes. Focus on your gums. Visualise a red ray of light moving through your gums, clearing and dissolving all infections, stagnation and blockages. You might even feel your gums begin to tingle. Say: “Divine Healing Intelligence, I ask you to release all procrastination, indecision, self sabotage, selfishness and stagnation from my gums, as well as all points of view, positive and negative charge, and all patterns that contribute to this condition.” Repeat the word “CLEAR” until you feel a shift occur. Visualise a white ray of light moving through your gums, cleansing and regenerating them. Say: “Divine Healing Intelligence, please install my ability to make empowering decisions, follow through with projects, be persistent and open myself to positive change and transformation. Thank you.” Say: “Divine Healing Intelligence, please heal and regenerate my gums and teeth to their maximum strength, vitality and health.”4

    Both Louise and Inna connect gums with decision-making. Become your own health detective (as well as healer) by matching body parts with the way the condition exhibits itself, i.e. itching, inflammation, infection, pain, tumours etc. You can change beliefs, emotions, stresses and reactions through awareness of the part you play in the process of manifesting.

    For example: itching = unsatisfied, remorse, irritated and annoyed; Inflammation = anger, frustration, fear, seething and self sabotage; legs = carrying us forward in life, facing our future; left side of the body = feminine aspect.

    So, if you have an itchy left leg ask yourself, “Am I annoyed with the direction my future is taking? Has a female irritated me? Am I feeling unsatisfied with the feminine side of myself with regards to this future project?” If the right leg is inflamed, ask yourself, “Do I have a fear of the future? Am I angry at a male for blocking my progress?”

    If the itching or inflammation is acute, then it may clear up quickly once you have acknowledged the emotional cause or situation that caused it. If it is a chronic condition, then this detective exercise can point you in the right direction for identifying your beliefs, to enable you to write your own positive thoughts to change the limiting belief.

    Here is a brief list of conditions, body parts and emotions I have compiled mainly from Louise Hay:

    Itching = unsatisfied, remorse, irritated, annoyed

    Inflammation = anger, frustration, fear, seething, self sabotage

    Pain = guilt, seeking punishment, longing for love

    Infection = anger, frustration, annoyance, bitterness, lack of joy

    Fat = over sensitivity, resistance to forgive, fear, needing protection, covering anger

    Tumour = building remorse, holding onto old hurts and shocks

    Ulcers = fear, not being good enough

    Eyes = to see the past, present and future clearly

    Mouth = new ideas, nourishment

    Neck = flexibility of ideas

    Throat = expression, creativity

    Breast = nurturing, female principle

    Lungs = ability to take in life and joy

    Heart = love, security

    Arms = ability to hold experiences of life

    Spine and joints = flexibility, support

    Stomach = digest new ideas

    Liver = anger, primal emotions

    Kidney = shame, disappointment, failure

    Intestines = assimilation, absorption, elimination

    Bladder = anxiety, fear of letting go,

    Bowel = holding on to old ideas

    Knees = support, ego, pride

    Feet = our understanding of life

    A lifetime of your subconscious supporting negative beliefs results in “becoming set in your ways.” Many symptoms of ‘old age’ reflect this, e.g. being inflexible can cause aching joints, stooped posture and arthritis, while fear of the future can result in poor eyesight, loss of hearing, leg pain and Alzheimer’s.

    Have lots of fun being a health detective, and keep your physical body healthy through your emotions. Remember, fairy dust can only make Peter Pan fly when combined with happy thoughts, and Harry Potter can only defeat the dementors that feed on fear with his happiest memory!

  • Are You Sleeping in a Safe Place? The Hidden Danger of Geopathic Stress

    Are You Sleeping in a Safe Place? The Hidden Danger of Geopathic Stress

    From New Dawn 150 (May-June 2015)

    The Earth has a natural background frequency of 7.83Hz, known as the Schumann Resonance, which corresponds to alpha brain waves in humans. When this frequency is thrown out of balance by other energies (either natural or manmade) we can also go out of balance. Our immune systems can weaken, thus inviting any number of illnesses to enter. NASA had to develop Earth Pulse Generators to mimic this natural frequency in spacecraft after finding astronauts lost tone and body mass living without the background 7.83Hz frequency.

    I have worked for nearly 20 years in the fields of energy healing and geomancy (Earth energies) and have found that in most cases of illness geopathic stress can be found in the home. When these energies become harmonised again in the environment, the human body has the best chance of healing itself, regardless of the type of illness.

    Back in 1929, Gustav Freiherr von Pohl, a German scientist, found that all cases of cancer in the town of Vilsbiburg corresponded with people who slept over areas of high geopathic stress. Many other researchers have found similar results, with Dr. E. Hartman MD theorising that cancer is a disease of location caused by geopathic stress.

    In my own experience I have always found where there is high levels of geopathic stress there is illness. Research and personal experience also shows that when geopathic stress is balanced, illness can vanish. The human body is an amazing healer and self-corrector when in harmony with the environment.

    Geopathic stress comes in many forms, such as electromagnetic lines of the Earth, bad water lines, fault lines or ley lines. When unbalanced they upset the Schumann Resonance and therefore our own frequencies. When two or more unbalanced natural energies cross, they can cause high levels of geopathic stress.

    Added to this is the manmade electromagnetic pollution of radio waves, microwaves, WiFi etc. This electromagnetic pollution alone has a negative effect on the body (see the articles on the dangers of mobile phones & WiFi in New Dawn 149), but when combined with geopathic stress the results multiply.

    Fifteen years ago I could always find the geopathic stress in a home related to illness, but nowadays the illnesses seem to be of higher intensity. Once a cancer patient may have been given three years to live, now it’s more like three months. I believe this has to do with the vast amount of electromagnetic pollution we are now exposed to everywhere we go, at home, work, school, shopping centres, hospitals etc. In von Pohl’s day the cancer patients in his experiment slept over areas of high geopathic stress for a number of years, but did not have the added factor of electromagnetic pollution that we are constantly bombarded with today.

    In relation to illness, the bed is still the most important area, as it’s where we spend most of our time in one place and where our bodies are supposed to be rejuvenating. Research has found that the part of the body affected by illness is where lines of geopathic stress cross the bed.

    About 15 years ago I worked on a house that was in sight of large overhead power lines. The client called me in to look at the energy of the house as their two children were constantly sick and displayed ratty behaviour regularly. I found an unbalanced water line running from the direction of the power lines through the children’s bedroom. Water lines can be deep underground, but their energy vibrates up vertically high above the ground; they have been detected at the top of high-rise buildings. To make matters worse, the children were sleeping in bunks made of tubular metal. The bed frame was attracting and enhancing the negative energy from the water line and power lines. No wonder these kids were ‘ratty’ – they were being zapped constantly and not getting a rejuvenating sleep. Their bodies had no time to heal. I balanced the water line on the property and advised a better suited sleeping space and to get rid of the metal bed frame.

    Metal springs in a bed mattress can change the background frequency and enhance negative energy. British geobiologist Roy Riggs found an energy anomaly coming from the metal springs of a mattress belonging to a two year old with brain cancer. After changing to a non-spring mattress the child started to respond positively to treatment.

    To get a good night’s sleep, it is advisable to move all electrical equipment as far away from the bed as possible, including clock radios and mobile phones. The electrical wiring running through the wall behind your head can also be a problem. Remember to check behind the wall where your head lies as a computer, fridge or smart meter could be blasting you through the wall. Shielding products are available to lessen electromagnetic pollution if you can’t move away from it.

    If you have a serious illness, I suggest you move your bed or sleep in any other room for a while to avoid possible geopathic stress. Or you could learn to dowse to find the negative energies yourself. Do not swap sides with your partner to ‘test’ if they get sick too! You need to spend a lot of time in areas of geopathic stress for your immune system to weaken, such as sleeping or at your desk at work (but as suggested earlier, things seem to be speeding up due to the vast amount of electronics invading our lives).

    I believe that many childhood illnesses, allergies, mental focus and emotional issues can be helped by moving the child’s bed. Our kids are being blasted at school with WiFi (which is banned in many European schools), carrying mobile phones and working with computers on their laps. They are continually connected to the electrical grid. Children can also absorb higher levels of electromagnetic radiation as their skulls are thinner and they are still growing.

    When working on a house I can usually pick the bed of the child having problems at school or who is more susceptible to illness than their siblings. They are the ones sleeping in areas of geopathic stress. Geopathic stress or electromagnetic pollution on their own can cause problems to the body, however the effect is heightened when the two are combined. So if your child has chronic illness, get the electrics out of the room and move the bed. Being able to sleep and let the body rejuvenate naturally is the best first step to recovery.

    Geopathic stress can happen at any time. Natural lines that have been in the land for many years can become unbalanced by pollutants and changes to the area, such as mining and building. Some can extend across continents, while others are localised to a smaller area. About 10 years ago I balanced the energies of a house belonging to a couple in their 50s. There was a long line of geopathic stress running on the property next door, but nothing in the couple’s bedroom. I was surprised to hear two years ago that the woman had died of cancer. I went back to test the area and found that the negative energy line that previously ran through the neighbour’s property now ran through the couple’s bedroom. In the parkland behind the property two large gum trees had been cut down the year before. I believe this is what caused the line of geopathic stress to move.

    Animals can often detect geopathic stress. Cats will be attracted to unbalanced energies, while dogs will actively avoid it. So, if your cat has a favourite spot on your bed, try moving the bed and see what happens.

    Beds (and any physical item) can store energy. Often this energy, good or bad, has been built up over a number of years through intense emotion, not necessarily from geopathic stress. One client who already had three children was having trouble conceiving a fourth. The couple had had no problems the first three times. When I tested the bed, I found that the old wooden bed head and frame was storing negative energy but the new mattress was not. The couple had recently inherited the bed from an aunt who had been infertile. The aunt’s sadness at not being able to have children had seeped into the bed frame over many years. Once this energy was cleared the couple conceived the following month.

    Just a side note on new beds: a friend was having trouble breathing after buying a new mattress. I couldn’t find any geopathic stress or stored energy in the bed, but my dowsing rods detected something wrong with the mattress. Airing out the mattress for a few days, to release the chemicals used in curing the foam, and installing a salt lamp, fixed the breathing problems. So, acute illness isn’t always caused by geopathic stress or electromagnetic pollution, but I’ve found they are usually the culprits in chronic pain and illness.

    Ley lines are lines of energy that carry communication of some sort and are usually ‘sent’ by people. There are large ley lines that are intentionally laid out across countries connecting sacred sites or have an altar placed on them to energetically communicate the church’s message to the community. The leys I most frequently encounter are personal leys sent unconsciously from one person to another. These leys can be full of emotion and tend to hit the bed and stove, thus depleting the person of nourishment and rejuvenation. Over time these can have a debilitating effect on the body, depending on the intensity of the emotion attached to it. One client in her 30s developed a severe case of arthritis. After three months of trying different remedies nothing had helped. I found a ley line hitting her bed and stove. It was being unconsciously sent by a lady whose cat had been put down at the vet. My client was the vet nurse who carried the cat away and thus became the focal point of the cat owner’s grief. Together we sent loving energy back down the ley to the cat owner, thus closing the ley. The next morning the arthritis was gone, never to return.

    Energy may be unseen but it is definitely felt and absorbed by the body. So, if you suffer from chronic pain, illness or restless sleep, geopathic stress in some form is most likely a contributing factor. Make your bedroom as harmonious as possible to bring the Schumann Resonance back into balance. Use visualisation, nice music, harmonious colours, crystals, loving energy, etc. and if you still feel bad – move the bed.
