From New Dawn Special Issue Vol 14 No 2 (April 2020)

No one saw the gorilla. I smiled and looked at my new group of students for the day: these were a selection of some of the most elite real estate agents in the world. These awesome folks reign supreme over Los Angeles’ competitive (and very fun) housing and land market. From Beverly Hills to the Hollywood Hills, these are the absolute best of the best – the people who sell land and homes to everyone from Oscar-winning Hollywood megastars to billionaire Silicon Valley tycoons.

The head of the Beverly Hills branch invited me to teach her employees my unique method of manifesting to her team as an early Christmas present. She had transformed her business using my method. In front of me now sat her team, a large group of people who already have had massive successes through being able to perceive opportunities where most could not… and yet, I was the only person who saw the gorilla.

The “gorilla” video, commonly used in science classrooms, is known as “The Monkey Business Illusion” (and you can find one on my website roycechristyn.com or click here). In the video, a group of about seven or eight young people are throwing basketballs to each other. I instructed my class to count how many times a ball is passed from one player to another.

The clip finished, and I asked the group one thing: “Who saw the gorilla?”

They looked at me like I had three heads. The suggestion that this group had not seen a gorilla in the video – let alone a man in a gorilla costume who walks into the middle of a group of people passing basketballs, stops, then does a silly dance before exiting the frame – was not sitting well with this particular class. It is their business to see opportunities where most cannot – that’s how they make their money.

Yet, not one of them saw the gorilla walk through the video. The class was so focused on counting the number of basketball passes, their brains literally did not allow them to see what seems like the most obvious thing to happen in the video! I replayed the clip, and the gasps in this very-full room made me smile even more.

One student, who I’ll call Mary, was feeling really upset with herself for not seeing the gorilla. She was new to this elite world of million-dollar sales, and I asked her what her biggest goal was for 2020. She told me she wanted to meet someone, a new client, and sell a home worth 10 million dollars. I told her to hang in there and buckle up because I knew once she started applying what I teach, she would manifest this easily. She just needed to open her mind (just like you are opening your mind now) and learn how amazing our abilities of perception truly are — and what they mean when it comes to creating the life you want.

Here’s the only “secret”: If you don’t understand the science of perception, you might as well not even try the Law of Attraction or manifesting things into your life.

I don’t need you to buy my new book Scripting the Life You Want. I am not going to dangle a promise of something hidden in its pages that you can only learn when you buy my book. I’m not a fan of authors who promise the world in articles, only to have fans buy the book and not get much out of it. I’ve decided I’m just going to give you the good stuff so you can see how incredibly powerful and potent scripting can be for you in your life right now.

I’m only going to be able to give you the “meat,” and if you want the bones and muscle, you really want to read the book. But, I know how well this works and how you don’t need all of the details. I’ve used my scripting to manifest a lead guest-starring role on Disney Channel’s sitcom “Wizards of Waverly Place” playing Selena Gomez’s boyfriend, to making incredible amounts of money, to finding my soulmate.

No need for you to buy copies of my book, and no sales pitch from me. Just promise yourself you will try my little method out for a few weeks. Deal? Cool. Let’s do this.

    STEP ONE

First, I want you to get two separate notebooks or something to write in that you can keep “individual” (a smart tablet is cool, too). In one notebook you are going to label the cover “Scripting the Life You Want,” and on the other notebook you will label “Journal.”

    STEP TWO: Daily Want List

I’m going to let you in on a little mind-body-spirit truth that a lot of teachers are scared to admit to our students: we want you to be selfish. Before you say “What the heck, Royce?!”, hear me out and ask yourself if you have an open mind to reconsidering the idea of “selfishness.”

Michael Jordan, still considered one of the all-time greats of basketball, said one of my favourite quotes ever about being selfish: “To be successful you have to be selfish, or else you never achieve. And once you get to your highest level, then you have to be unselfish. Stay reachable. Stay in touch. Don’t isolate.” See what he said there? That’s the key. You have to be selfish enough to reach and achieve your goals and dreams so that you can then use the good you have acquired in your life to spread to others. This means you need to be bold and write down what you want.

So, for the next few weeks, you are going to write a super short want list (starting each desire with “I intend”) of 3-7 things you want. It should look like this:

    1. I intend to have an awesome day.

    2. I intend to receive unexpected money this week in a fun and exciting way.

    3. I intend to own a Tesla.

And… I’m going to give you my most powerful intention that bring my students’ results up from a 50% success rate to 90%+ – just by including this simple intention/want in your daily list:

    4. I intend to be a master manifestor.

You have to think outside the box when it comes to not only the Law of Attraction, and sometimes the most obvious thing is a huge key. You want to master manifesting and creating things in your life? Put it on the want list. Trust me.

Feel free to mix up your wants daily or keep them the same – just have fun with it (it’s more important than most know) and don’t ritualise it by getting into a rut and writing the same stuff every day. That’s where my next secret sauce to scripting comes in.

STEP THREE: The Belief List, or… Let’s get… mundane?

On the next blank page in your Scripting notebook, pick two or three items from your Daily Want List that you believe or know the most are going to happen. They can be boring. That’s kind of the point. You are re-coding and training your brain with this. So, it would look like:

    1. I know today is an awesome day.

    2. I believe that I easily own a Tesla.

In my book, I talk about something I call “the magic of the mundane.” Every once in a while a friend or someone I am coaching will come to me feeling stuck with their manifestations after having had wonderful initial success. Every single time, without fail, the reason they have stopped having manifestations appear is because of one simple thing: they aren’t writing things they consider “boring” or “trivial” on their Want List, Belief List, and/or Daily Script.

My partner Solly’s best friend had hit a wall with her manifesting work. She called me, upset and angry at the universe. She asked me what she could to do to turn things around because, despite some initial success, her manifestations had come to a complete stop.

“When is your next checkup appointment with your dentist?” I asked her, dead serious.

After I assured her that I wasn’t joking, she told me that her next appointment happened to be the following week. “Great!” I said. “Tell me about other normal stuff you’re doing over the course of the next few days,” which she did.

“Awesome! Starting tomorrow morning, when you’re writing your Want List, you are going to write at least two intentions relating to your dental appointment, and a few more that are about your dinner with your parents and your weekly grocery shopping. Make them things you know will happen. For example, write down that you intend to have an easy dental appointment, that you intend to buy those special organic apples you love, and that you know you will enjoy spending time with your parents’ dog when you have dinner at their house.”

I advised her to think of these “mundane” intentions as flexible items on her list that are in addition to the “big dream” intentions she had been writing. By flexible, I meant she could add more intentions of things she knows will almost absolutely happen over the coming days and weeks, and she could swap out having an easy time at the dentist’s and perhaps intend to get a free sample of toothpaste instead (since her dentist always gives her one). She still thought I had lost it, and I told her to trust me and call me in a week.

When she called, not only had the obvious things we talked about (like buying the apples) manifested into her reality, but she told me how she also was asked out on a date while she was grocery shopping! Not only that, but a management position at her company opened up suddenly, and her boss asked her to come in to interview for the job, which would include a small raise.

So what happened? How did writing things down that she knew would happen already help “unstick” the manifestation of other, more exciting things on her Want List? There is actually some really cool science to help us understand.

    Perception is Key

Remember the video we talked about earlier? My wonderful group of students’ brains were not allowing them to perceive a man in a gorilla costume walking into a 45-second video of kids tossing balls back and forth to one another. Why were their brains – the brains of some of the wealthiest and most successful businesspeople in LA – missing something so obvious? As I discuss in my book, my process of Scripting allows us to interact with someone – ourselves – and alter the reality of our world. As discoveries in science and technology are made, I am always fascinated to see if they can help explain how seemingly otherworldly tools like scripting operate.

Donald Hoffman, a professor and cognitive scientist from the University of California, Irvine, presented a TED talk in 2015 laying out what he and his many research students had discovered. Hoffman has spent the past three decades studying perception, and I believe his discoveries may hold the “key to the key” that unlocks the door to understanding manifesting. In his twenty-minute talk, he takes the audience on an incredible journey that leads to one pretty astounding conclusion: evolution does not favour reality. Put another way: as we have evolved, our evolution has not made our perception of reality anywhere close to a priority.

Why did my students not see the gorilla, and why did writing about mundane things help “unstick” my friends’ manifestations? The answers can be found in our brain stem’s reticular formation. Let’s focus on just one aspect of your reticular formation for now: the extrathalamic control modulatory system, which you may have heard called the reticular activating system (RAS) by positive-thinking leaders such as Mel Robbins. I call it your ExtraCOM system, because it is a powerful tool of “Extra COMMunication” that we use to manifest in our lives.

Your RAS is a major key to manifestation and the Law of Attraction.

In a fascinating article titled “How Your Brain’s Reticular Activating System (RAS) Determines Your Success,” author Akshay Gupta explains how our reticular activating system acts like a filter for the billions of pieces of information that are being flung at our senses daily. He writes:

“It helps to think of the reticular activating system (RAS) as a gatekeeper of your brain. Its job is to sort through the massive amounts of information delivered to you by your sensory organs. Some of these stimulations always get through, for example hearing your name called. However, there is information that your brain can do without and the RAS makes the decision to dismiss it. Basically, the RAS lets in information that you are already focused on.”

Have you ever heard someone mention a somewhat uncommon word to you, like Windsor, or have you ever casually noticed a number, like 11:11, and then, seemingly out of nowhere, you start seeing the word Windsor and the number 11:11 almost everywhere? Contrary to superstition, this is actually your RAS at work! When you experience this, you are experiencing what is known as the Baader-Meinhof phenomenon. Why does this matter when we are talking about a list of intentions, desires, and beliefs? Well, our RAS is a filter that is programmed.

I like to think of our brain as a computer that can be programmed with great apps and software… or infected with viruses that need cleaning. The good thing is that both of these are possible: programming and cleaning. My personal method of scripting reprograms your mental computer to clean and re-focus your brain’s filter.

Mel Robbins (who was the first person I had ever heard discuss the RAS) explained it best:

“[G]uess who programmed that filter? You did! And so did the people from your past. And so if you constantly feel like you’re unlovable, guess what? Your reticular activating system is going through the day and it is going to point out every single piece of evidence that confirms that negative belief that you have. If you think that people don’t like you at work, the Reticular Activating System, the filter, it is literally going to be looking for evidence to confirm that belief all day long.”

Our RAS is focused on two main things – how important the information it’s receiving is to our immediate survival and how important something is to us because we keep telling it to focus on something. The good news is that you have the power to easily and gradually reprogram your RAS. I know from personal experience that it is just as crucial to give our RAS feedback and written instructions… which is why writing down seemingly mundane things (that you know are going to happen) on your Daily Want List is so important. When the mundane things manifest in your reality, your RAS begins to make new synapses and connections regarding your Daily Want List and reality. Your brain’s RAS immediately begins to understand and “think” two things:

    1. “When something goes onto this list, it is likely to happen in real life.”

    2. “I better start pointing this stuff out.”

This is where we have some fun “hacking our brain” using my process of scripting.

STEP FOUR: Scripting the Life You Want

In the morning, right after you wake up and write your few wants and belief list, turn to a blank page. Date the top of the paper so that it reads the current day. I like to write it as “Today was Friday, May 1st, 2020” – putting the “was” there subtly reinforces to our mind that we are now writing out a script (aka future journal entry) as if we are snuggled up in our bed writing our normal nightly journal entry about what happened during the day (even though it hasn’t yet).

Yes, it may feel a little funny at first, but just write out your day from the end of the day. Start talking about how you woke up, and (this is important) write out in the first sentence or two something like “I sat down to write my morning script, and afterwards…” and go from there, focusing ONLY on the positive aspects you want to experience during the coming day, but not shying away from the boring appointments or errands you do have on your schedule.

    The Last Step

At the actual end of each night, take out that other notebook labelled “Journal” we talked about, and write out what actually happened during your day. This is your “control” in your scripting experiment. This keeps you honest and also will be the notebook that freaks you out the most because of what happens after a few days and weeks (this all works really fast).

What happens? Within a short period of time, if you take a look at your morning script and your nighttime journal from the previous days, something almost eerie has happened: you can no longer tell the difference between what you wrote in the morning and what you wrote at night. They are indistinguishable from one another.

    Mind-Body-Spirit-Science

It’s actually easy and fun – and there is real science to help us take manifesting to new levels. Welcome to the new world of Mind-Body-Spirit. And, if I may, please allow me to introduce the 4th component for this new decade and century: science. We have finally found the bridge, and that is the most exciting development in the world of self-development we’ve had in over a century.

Remember Mary, the real estate agent that we talked about who wanted to make her first $10,000,000.00 sale? Well, nine days after she started doing her scripting, she noticed a sign outside a bookstore near her office advertising a well-known entrepreneur’s book signing event. She was a big fan of this guy’s TV appearances, so she walked in to meet this well-known fellow.

As it turned out, this author and Mary got talking and he had a house to sell but hadn’t found the right realtor yet. He wanted to sell the house for $11 million dollars. Mary got her first big client and, within two months, her first sale over $10 million! When she called me to tell me, she said that the weirdest thing was that, according to her new client, there had been signs advertising his signing outside the shop for weeks.

She passed by this shop every day on her way to work – it was like the gorilla! Her brain was so busy before she learned how to script that she almost missed meeting him. Her brain didn’t have the right instructions! Scripting helped her quickly and easily train her brain into pointing out to her an opportunity to manifest her wish that had been right in front of her the entire time!

“There are ‘gorillas’ everywhere” she told me – and she is right.

You also have “gorillas” (aka all sorts of manifestations) all around you, you just haven’t told your mind to point them out to you! Now you are forever changed because you have the tools to start receiving your dreams. Remember to be playful and have fun! Got it? Yeah you do! Now, go make some awesome scripts and find some gorillas. They’ve been there the entire time, only now you can finally see them like I did that crisp December day in Beverly Hills.

If you’ve tasted the meat and are now ready for the muscles and bones, Royce Christyn’s book Scripting the Life You Want: Manifest Your Dreams with Just Pen and Paper will help set you on course to seeing the gorillas and manifesting your intentions. With a Foreword by New Thought master and practitioner Mitch Horowitz, Scripting the Life You Want is available from all good bookstores.

Dreams that Can Save Your Life: Getting the Message Might be the Most Important Thing You Do

    From New Dawn 169 (Jul-Aug 2018)

Have you ever had a dream or nightmare that indicated a health problem which was compelling enough for you to take the message seriously? In our new book Dreams that Can Save Your Life: Early Warning Signs of Cancer and Other Diseases, we suggest you ask two questions to get you started on your quest for more information. Is the dream about a health concern of my own or someone else’s? Is the dream a warning about a real physical illness or is it a metaphor for an emotional issue in my life?

The inspiration for the book came from dreams warning of breast cancer reported by two close friends of mine. As a holistic radiologist who was one of the original researchers in MRI of the knee and shoulder 30 years ago, I published a scientific paper on ‘Warning Dreams Preceding the Diagnosis of Breast Cancer’ in 2015. My co-author Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos had breast cancer warning dreams about 20 years ago and was a participant in my study. I will provide background information on dreams and cancer in the first half of this article, and Kat, as friends call her, will provide details about her amazing dream guidance in the second half.

My first friend, a cardiac physiologist-turned-meditation teacher, was awakened by a very vivid dream of being in an operating room having breast cancer surgery by a woman surgeon. The dream was so disturbingly real that she immediately went for a mammogram despite not feeling a lump or having any symptoms. The radiologist reassured her that the mammogram was normal, but she wouldn’t leave until an ultrasound was performed against the radiologist’s advice. She pointed to where the cancer was in the dream, and the radiologist was shocked to find the cancer. She later had surgery by a woman surgeon who she recognised from the dream.

My second friend, a physician, had two nightmares in one night, first about a serial killer, and then one showing her that she had breast cancer. She also had no symptoms and was told by the radiologist that her mammogram was normal. However, she was not reassured and said she knew she had breast cancer from a dream. They looked at the mammogram again together focusing on the area of her breast where the cancer appeared in the dream and found a subtle suspicious lesion that had been overlooked in the first interpretation.

A biopsy showed that it was cancer and the dream had been correct.

After hearing these two experiences, I found out that a third friend had a similar breast cancer dream that unfortunately was dismissed by her physician. Even though she pointed out that she also had pain in her breast near the sternum, the doctor concluded it was normal breast tissue on physical examination and did not order a mammogram. This was a tragic mistake, as she eventually died of metastatic breast cancer that was not discovered until it was too late.

That story prompted me to do an international survey involving 18 women whose dreams warned of breast cancer to learn more about this unusual phenomenon which I had never heard of before.

The results of this study showed that the most common characteristics of warning dreams were (in descending order of frequency): a sense of conviction about the importance of the dream; more vivid, real or intense than ordinary dreams; an emotional sense of threat, menace or dread; the use of the specific words breast cancer/tumour; and the sense of physical contact with the breast. In more than half of the cases, the dreams were shared with consulting doctors and led directly to a diagnosis. Guides sometimes appeared in the dreams in the form of deceased family members, healthcare professionals in white coats, or in the unique case of my co-author Kat, Franciscan monks in hooded robes.

Shortly after the study was published I started hearing stories about other types of cancer dreams from my friends. One of my high school classmates shared that she had disturbing nightmares about blood in the toilet every night until she finally felt compelled to get a colonoscopy. A tiny, but aggressive, pea-sized colon cancer was discovered that had already spread to the lymph nodes requiring surgery and chemotherapy. Fortunately, she made a full recovery thanks to the early warning from the dream. If she had waited until there actually was blood in the toilet, it probably would have been too late.

Another friend, a retired MRI technologist, told me about a puzzling dream that was more difficult to interpret. Her dream was about giving birth, but as a post-menopausal woman, she knew that was impossible. She wondered whether it might be just a metaphor for a creative project she was giving birth to as an artist. However, she asked for a clarifying dream the next night and was taken to see a headstone surrounded by daisies accompanied by a voice that warned she would be pushing up daisies soon if she didn’t act on the previous dream. Despite her having no symptoms, the gynaecologist found an endometrial cancer of the uterus on ultrasound which was cured by a vaginal hysterectomy, symbolically delivering the tumour through the vagina as foreshadowed in the life-saving dream.

I told many of these stories in a TEDx talk in 2016 that got censored despite being based on my scientific research. However, you can still watch the talk at www.larryburk.com. In the talk, I recommend keeping a dream diary and sharing any warning dreams with your doctor. I’ve been personally working with my dream diary for over 30 years and have had many precognitive dreams that came true including one about my father’s kidney cancer.

In 1987 I had a dream about having a brain tumour diagnosed on a CT scan which shocked everyone because I looked so healthy. I recorded the dream during a rare visit by my parents who lived in a different city. A week later my father was diagnosed with a kidney tumour on a CT scan, and we were all shocked because he seemed so healthy. I realised that I must have intuitively sensed the presence of the tumour during their visit and translated it into a dream about myself, as I am named as a junior after my dad. The kidney has some of the same anatomic structures as the brain with a cortex and medulla, and it was located on the same side of the body.

Now if I have a health-related dream, I always ask for a clarifying dream as to whether it is about me or someone else like my friend did to clarify whether her giving birth dream was about a real physical illness or a metaphor. I recommend you do the same and start keeping your dream diary today. My co-author Kat will next share her remarkable dream story with you and some important tips about remembering and interpreting your own dreams.

My name is Kathleen O’Keefe-Kanavos, co-author and one of Dr Larry Burk’s research patients. I am a three-time breast cancer survivor whose dreams diagnosed my cancers all three times when the medical community and the tests on which they relied missed it.

My guided dreams with Franciscan Monks as spirit guides/guardian angels caught the attention of Dr Burk, along with the attention of the Dr Oz Show (‘The 6th Sense: Shocking Premonitions’), and George Noory’s Coast to Coast Radio Show on which Dr Burk and I were both guests. The monks were a big hit to the audience because they were incredibly entertaining with their feather, but to me, they were life-savers.

The year is 1998, in Boston, Massachusetts. A guided dream from the previous night involving a Franciscan monk has sent me scurrying to my doctor’s office for an examination. This is the first of many medical visits we will have over the next three months.

When Dr Wagner enters the examining room the theme song from ‘High Noon’ plays in my head because he resembles the late actor Gary Cooper. “I can’t feel anything on or around your breast, Kat. Perhaps you felt a fibrous tumour sensitive to your menstrual cycle. Let’s do another mammogram and keep an eye on it. You’re only 43, too young for breast cancer, you know. Go home. I’ll call you with the mammogram and blood test results. And, I’ll see you in six months,” he concludes and snaps my chart shut.

If he isn’t worried about this invisible hard spot, why am I? After all, he’s the doctor, right? But the voices from my dream world refuse to be silent in my waking world and nag my every thought. “Go back to your doctor,” they keep saying.

My life has always been active and healthy. But three mammograms, three blood tests, three physical exams, three yellow copies of healthy mammogram reports over a three-month period, and three recurrent lucid diagnostic and prophetic dreams with stern Franciscan monks would send me scurrying back to my doctor many times. After my final healthy mammography report, I had this life-changing and life-saving dream lead by Franciscan monks.

While enjoying my dream, it suddenly stops, like a frozen computer screen or a TV show put on pause. In the centre of my dream a pop-up window appears, also like on a computer. The window expands into a door, and a spirit guide/guardian angel dressed as a Franciscan monk in a long, brown, hooded robe complete with a knotted-rope belt, leather sandals, and a raised hood hiding his face steps through the Sacred Dream Door. It looked like St. Francis of Assisi has just graced my dream. This dream has happened before. “Come with me. We have something to tell you,” he says and leads me through the dream door.

Am I dreaming in a dream, I wonder, but obediently followed him into a room I call the Room Between Realms, a place that is neither of the living nor the dead. It is a parallel universe of consciousness. Waiting for me are two other monks, one of whom takes my hand, places it on my right breast, and says, “You have cancer right here. Feel it?” I did. “Go back to your doctor tomorrow without an appointment and ask for a different set of tests.”

I start to cry in the dream and tell the monk that the doctors won’t listen to me tomorrow any more than they did yesterday, or at any of the other appointments over the past three months. “They just keep giving me the same tests over and over and tell me I’m healthy and to go home. If I really do have breast cancer and you want me to live, help me.”

The monk reaches into his enormous sleeve, pulls out a white feather no larger than one that escapes from a pillow at night and glides to the bedroom floor, and hands it to me.

“Use this feather as a sword to verbally fence with your doctor, and you will win against his arguments and scientific facts. You need exploratory surgery. If you present your case to the doctor as though you were an attorney standing before an incredulous judge who dislikes you, you will win,” he says, then turns and walks out of my dream.

As the Sacred Dream Door closes behind him, my previous dream begins again where it had stopped, as if someone had taken it off pause. Time had stood still while the monks from beyond time and space delivered their life-saving message on the esoteric dream-plane.

There is more dream detail in the book, but the dream is proved right with pathology reports that state I have stage 2 aggressive fast-growing breast cancer with one affected lymph node. If I had been given an MRI three months earlier my treatment might not have involved multiple surgeries, chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

This is a perfect example of how a dream can be used for the early detection of illness.

Dream journaling is important to our waking world. One thing that made the dreamers in Dr Larry Burk’s Research Group and subsequently the dreamers in the book so successful in using dreams to guide and save their lives was the fact that they journaled. This allowed them to return to their dream journal and track their dreams, and progress from dream guidance.

Our dreams may be repeated to us in different ways in order to be better understood. We have recurrent dreams until we understand a dream’s message. By using signs, symbols, a guardian angel, deceased loved one, or a voice, our dream may give us the same message many different ways until we understand it. Journaling can help connect the dots, so the message jumps out at us often creating an Aha-moment.

If you are struggling to remember your dreams, the seven-letter acronym SO DREAM may help.

S = Set Your Intention. This is the dream part of the Law of Attraction. A simple request like “Tonight when I dream I will remember it and it will be about .” You fill in the blank.

Write your intention on a piece of paper and place it under your pillow to sleep-on-it, a play on words that holds profound dream meaning. By doing this, you are showing your inner self, through your eyes considered the windows to the soul, what you intend to do: take a dream from the abstract fifth-dimension of sleep and bring it into the concrete third-dimension of life by turning it into written messages.

O = Organise yourself before sleep to better record your dream upon awakening. Put your dream journal, pen, or recording device such as a smartphone (and a flashlight, if necessary) beside your bed. If your dream awakens you, it may be telling you to write down or record relevant information before you forget it. Hunting for pencil and paper may cause you to forget your dream.

D = Dream! Studies have shown that all living things dream, including you, because you began to dream in the womb at seven months. Dreaming is the first step in training your brain to remember dreams.

R = Remain in your same sleep position when you first awaken to Remember and Record your dream. Moving around may cause your dream to dissipate.

E = Emotion which refers to those parts of the dream, or snippets, that Elicit Emotion that sticks in your mind and creates a physical response, such as rapid breathing or cold sweats.

A = Add to your dream by asking, “What colours, sounds, words, people, animals, plants, signs, and symbols did I see? What names and phrases did I hear?” If more of the dream returns during the day, jot it down on a piece of paper or record it on your phone to add to your journal later. This can help you with dream tracking; keeping track of dreams, messages, and images to see if they come true.

M = Meaning. What do the small emotional dream parts known as snippets mean to you? Dreams are as individual as the dreamer. Pictures, forms, creatures, colours, lack of colours, people, and phrases are all part of your individual dream language. It is one of many ways we communicate with ourselves.

Finally, give your dream a title, even if it’s The Dream Without a Name, so if part of it returns during the day, you will know where to add it to your journal.

Our dreams often use a play on words to speak to us. This play on words can be in picture form because a picture can be worth a thousand words. “Washing your hands” of a situation, “kicking something around” in the dream are examples that come to mind for working out a solution or ridding yourself of a problem.

So, tonight, dream your intention and remember that everyone dreams, but some dreams save lives.

The authors’ book Dreams that Can Save Your Life: Early Warning Signs of Cancer and Other Diseases is available from all good bookstores.

Post-Pandemic Landscapes: Behaviour Modification as the New Consensus Reality

    From New Dawn 182 (Sept-Oct 2020)

The ‘COVID Event’ handed the unreal world its great coup over the place of the real. This perception intervention gave the final stimulus necessary to tip the twenty-first century into an awaiting technologically manipulated reality. A new landscape is emerging where, for the first time, the human mind is finding itself out-of-place within its own territory. Emerging ‘post-pandemic’ landscapes are likely to be hazardous territory for our mental, emotional and physical states. The human condition is under modification.

New forms of power are rising, embedded within structures of health security, re-imagining our social lives, living and workspaces, and our physical and digital movements. Until now, the spider’s web of social control mainly operated below the waterline in a space where an almost intangible world existed beyond governance or accountability. Now the Kraken awakes and unashamedly rises to the surface. The beast of behaviour modification spreads its tentacles through our established social and cultural landscape without shame – all in the name of health security (the new nom de plume for social management). It is encroaching upon our media, city life, the office, and – perhaps most of all – the online digital world. The modification of these spaces is set to further desensitise, anaesthetise, and dehumanise us – the collective human mind is being groomed and prepared for a new consensus reality of “normalised dissonance.”

The post-pandemic landscape is merging physical world pandemics with its own viral digital epidemics that now infect the human psyche. The Italian philosopher Franco Berardi has noted that our “electronic mediascape” places “the sensitive organism in a state of permanent electrocution.”1 The social body is deliberately targeted by strategies that cause anxiety, fragmentation, exhaustion, confusion, polarisation and fear. We can see this happening through national and local lockdowns; social distancing; anti-social interaction; social ostracisation; loss of economic independence, and more.

In early July, Prof Sir Venki Ramakrishnan, President of the Royal Society (the UK’s national academy of science) stated publicly that face masks should be worn in all public spaces (as they already are in many places in Europe and worldwide). Not wearing a face covering, he added, “should be regarded as ‘anti-social’ in the same way as drink driving or failing to wear a seatbelt.”2 This is nothing short of encouraging a regime of public shaming. The human condition subjected to a new rhythm of the modern power-machine that breaks down social alliances.

The established conditions that maintain a sense of social reality are being dissolved and replaced with a regime aimed at managing the masses through forms of separation and quantification. That is, techniques necessary to form a technologised humanity. These processes seek to reduce human life, and its environment, to something measurable and predictable – a life ordained by algorithms. These imposed changes are creating disequilibrium in the human psyche – a fragmentation of the human self. Furthermore, they are breaking down our trusted social relations.

Something insidious creeps into the global collective that is attempting to create a world of sleepwalkers, plied with fear-pills, updated with vaccines, programmed with nonsense, and dismissive of alternative thinking. As a conscious, biological organism, we are being prepared to mimic the automation of the machine. Humanity is mentally sleeping and slipping into the void where a new form of the ‘social collective’ awaits us.

Techniques are being devised and employed to produce normalised and standardised behaviour for a socially manageable populace. The collective human mind is being adapted and adopted into an infrastructure of control that operates largely through modes of digital connectivity. I refer to this rising mechanism of social engineering as the modern power-machine (MPM) that exerts control over human expression and autonomy of behaviour. To enact this, a consortium of institutions have been selected to structure contemporary societies toward specific functions that offer the promise of security and human well-being whilst developing increased social dependency. This is the post-pandemic landscape now rapidly arising and to which all future generations shall be born into.

    Childhood’s End

Luciano Floridi, a professor of philosophy and the ethics of information, believes that human civilisation is shifting into a phase of “hyperhistory.” A hyperhistorical society that is dependent upon integrative technologies, says Floridi, could also become human-independent – that is, not needing us. Life on this planet is to be incorporated into an infrastructure that favours machinic intelligence and artificial organisms, thus de-territorialising the human experience. Our urban environments may soon be more conducive to artificial ‘life’ than biological life. No one is yet ready for the mutation at hand. Are we being programmed to take a new position in the world that erodes the possibility of human transcendence – a world where the ‘flesh robot’ eventually dominates the reality consensus?

We are witnessing an unprecedented migration of humanity from the physical space to the digital-sphere – an environment of surveillance and technocratic social management. Incoming generations will recognise no fundamental difference between the digital-sphere and the physical world as this merging will form the reality they are born into. To the new generations, the digital-physical-sphere will be their only reality for they will have been born without the offline-online distinction. In the words of Luciano Floridi, they are born onlife. This is their reality, and it is ‘onlife’. The world that many of us recognise as being human will never be the same again. With the ‘onlife’ mode, a new era of history begins. Childhood ends when you stop being a child and become a user. The user inhabits whole new realities – realities believed to be ‘user-generated’ when in fact the reverse is likely the case.

Connectivity and access will be part of the new power-machine regime. The rights of access are going to be a matter of consensus health security (as addressed in New Dawn #180/#181). Aligning with the power-machine will mean opting-in to its sanctioned and on-surveillance connections. Opting out will be an almost impossible alternative. Connecting into the power-machine will become the new cartography of ‘human reality’. Living ‘manually’ – offline – will become one of the last ways of resistance as human life becomes regulated-by-automation.

    The City as Machine Cradle

Modern living, especially within dense urban metropolises, as well as within poverty-stricken neighbourhoods, severely affects the human psychological condition and the nervous system. Journalist Naomi Klein has noted how a form of ‘Pandemic Shock Doctrine’ is emerging where city metropolises are forming suspicious partnerships with large tech conglomerates to re-design city living.

Klein has stated that the quarantine lockdowns were not so much to save lives “but as a living laboratory for a permanent – and highly profitable – no-touch future.”3 One technology company CEO told Klein: “There has been a distinct warming up to human-less, contactless technology… Humans are biohazards, machines are not.”4 Several local city governments are in negotiations with large private tech companies to create a “seamless integration” between city government, education, health and policing operations. Further, the individual home will become a smart-enclosed hub for the urban dweller. All this, and more, as a part of the “frontline pandemic response.”

Online learning, the home office, telehealth, and online commerce/shopping are all now part of an emerging investment landscape to convert existing physical-digital infrastructures to ‘cloud’-based run by now-under-construction 5G networks. All in the name of providing citizens with a securitised ‘virus-free’ landscape.

Eric Schmidt, ex-CEO of Google/Alphabet and now chair of the Defense Innovation Board that advises the US Department of Defense on military Artificial Intelligence (AI), recently stated: “The benefit of these corporations, which we love to malign, in terms of the ability to communicate, the ability to deal with health, the ability to get information, is profound. Think about what your life would be like in America without Amazon.”5

Schmidt has been hired to head up the task force commissioned to reimagine New York’s post-COVID reality. And he won’t be alone. High-tech is now jumping to get into partnerships with local governments in order to bring a safer, more ‘securitised’ landscape into civil society – all for ‘our’ benefit.

Part of this process is modifying the behaviour of people working in business environments, with the office landscape set to be re-organised to regulate further and isolate the social interactions of working colleagues. Jeff Green and Michelle F. Davis in a recent Bloomberg business analysis suggested: “The pre-COVID workplace, with its shared desks and common areas designed for ‘creative collisions’, is getting a makeover for the social distancing era. So far, what employers have come up with is a mash-up of airport security style entrance protocols and surveillance combined with precautions already seen at grocery stores, like sneeze guards and partitions.”6

The authors also foresee that the newly returned office worker will likely be encased in a makeshift cubicle of plexiglass sheets. A new mode of interaction-prevention is clearly in the works.

Hundreds of major companies have already announced they plan what they call “employee re-orientation programs” and are hiring “thermal scanners” to monitor employees for fevers, according to the article’s sources. The authors also noted that there had been a spike in job postings for “tracers” – who would track down the contacts of anyone testing positive for the virus. In short, companies are now looking for a range of solutions to keep people away from one another throughout the working day. IBM, for example, is looking to use existing sensors or find new technology to detect when people are too close or “trending” in that direction. Another report from the UK noted how companies may develop their own specialist employee smartphone apps that would operate elevators hands-free.7 Employers are discussing the creation of “safe bubbles” around employees with monitoring so bubbles do not overlap. How would they manage such monitoring?

Various companies, the UK report goes on to say, are looking to teach AI to monitor the video cameras that monitor employees. Dr Mahesh Saptharishi, Motorola Solutions’ chief technology officer, explained that AI algorithms can offer feedback about “pinch points” where people are too close together. Instead of employers (read ‘humans’) having to spend time (read ‘waste time’) monitoring video surveillance feeds, they can ‘ask’ AI if social distancing is being observed and any problem points.8 Issue solved! We’ll just rely on AI algorithms to tell us how to ‘social distance’ in our non-interacting bubbles, and we can modify our behaviour accordingly. Job done!

Importantly, this also signifies that to modify our behaviour, machine intelligence will need to gather ever greater datasets about us – all of us. ‘Smart cities’ and ‘secure offices’ means increased surveillance that translates into expanded datasets. The “Black Iron Prison” that science fiction writer Philip K. Dick saw coming is now hitting us squarely in the form of surveillance capitalism.

    Surveillance Capitalism

Professor Shoshana Zuboff, author of the widely acclaimed The Age of Surveillance Capitalism, says that digital connection is now a means to others’ commercial ends. With the rapid rise of data collection for commercial gain, Zuboff explains, “the result is that both the world and our lives are pervasively rendered as information.”9 People are reduced to less than products because they are rendered into a mere ‘input’ for the creation of the real product which is the data. People are reduced to “prediction products” that are designed to “anticipate what you will do now, soon, and later.” Your life as a product, writes Zuboff, is then sold off in “behavioural futures markets.” Zuboff considers surveillance capitalism to be, at its core, parasitic and self-referential – a parasite that feeds on every aspect of every human’s experience.

“Surveillance capitalism,” notes Zuboff, “unilaterally claims human experience as free raw material for translation into behavioural data.” It then becomes a product of value. Using this material, organisations can intervene in our lives to shape and modify our behaviour in order to favour outcomes most desirable for their commercial gain. Behaviour modification in the hands of private capital and undertaken with minimal external oversight.

At its most basic, humans have been reduced to ‘batteries’ that produce datasets for algorithms and machine learning. By and large, and somewhat of a worry, the general population is ignorant of what is going on quite literally beneath their fingertips. People are unknowingly funding their own manipulation says Zuboff.

Through its operations of technocratic ‘normalisation’ and the deliberate breaking up of social groupings, the power-machine age wants to manufacture a new standardisation of the human body and mind. With the encroachment of socially managed interventions, people are made vulnerable to the increased destabilising of the human self. The human sense of ‘self’ and identity has become a fragile thing; it is analysed, scrutinised, and criticised through social media; it is modified through surveillance capitalism; and it is increasingly being rendered by AI facial recognition systems such as Clearview (see New Dawn #180). As these post-pandemic landscapes roll out into our social environments, we are likely to see, as a consequence, an ever-greater fragmentation of the human self.

    The Fragmented Self

It is no exaggeration that humanity is entering a period of existential crisis, perhaps not witnessed since the Middle Ages. But this time we don’t have the religious institutions to offer us salvation. The responsibility is upon our shoulders to find salvation by becoming fully human in the face of dehumanising forces. At present, we are being bombarded with such contradictory information leaving many people unable to find coherence or make a whole picture out of the shards. That is, the human mind is finding it increasingly difficult to see the patterns and connect the dots. Many people will also now be experiencing forms of cognitive dissonance: “Cognitive dissonance refers to a situation involving conflicting attitudes, beliefs or behaviours. This produces a feeling of mental discomfort leading to an alteration in one of the attitudes, beliefs or behaviours to reduce the discomfort and restore balance.”10

The result is that the mind desperately wishes to reduce this discomfort and restore balance by seeking – or being provided with – a coherent picture, or closure. This ‘closure’ or ‘coherent picture’ may be provided by an institution or body (a structure of orthodox ‘authority’), and many people will accept it as a way of gaining closure, and thus comfort. In truth, we need to find this coherence and closure within ourselves – through our own resources.

With the increasing breakdown of social relations and a massively changing human environment, people’s consciousness is being further fragmented so that events are seen as random rather than interrelated and meaningful. Virtual attractions will be offered to compensate this lack of meaningfulness as the digital-sphere increasingly becomes the ‘safe and secure’ home for people. Critical thinking, perceptive observation and intuitive knowing will face the onslaught of nullifying behaviour modification.

As we are now seeing in the public space, self-identity (race, sexuality, etc.) is becoming a target of division, creating doubt, anxiety and social polarisation. Psychologically, people are being pushed to acquiesce, submit and accept measures implemented in the ‘new normal’ post-pandemic landscapes. And the more we submit, the more we become vulnerable to further submission and disempowerment.

Bureaucratic regimes and administrative structures will encroach deeper into our living, work and leisure until a form of what French philosopher Michel Foucault calls disciplinary power will dominate over the human condition. New forms of social discipline and collective obedience fostering an artificial and engineered state of perception.

We are right in the middle of a time of intense “enforced socialisation,” or what Edward Snowden recently referred to as an “architecture of oppression.” For some, the only response to this overwhelming “architecture of oppression” will be to find their comfort zones – such as sitting at home with their ‘surrogates’ roaming the digital-physical landscape on their part.11 Or, as the 2008 computer-animated sci-fi film Wall-E depicted, growing lazy and obese, indulging in infantile entertainments, while robots cater to every need. We can only hope this shall never be the case.

Humanity has entered unprecedented times. Such times demand an unprecedented response. It appears we are now being asked to ‘step up’ to accept our responsibility for our human becoming – to become fully human. By doing nothing, we allow our behaviour to be modified and our self-identities to be splintered.

In these post-pandemic landscapes, the choices we make will be choices that, like never before, determine our future as a human species. I suggest it is time to declare our unity as an empowered fully human species and not accept the push of the power-machine for distanced and disempowered individuals.

  • Artificial Intelligence: The Antichrist?

    Artificial Intelligence: The Antichrist?

    From New Dawn 167 (Mar-Apr 2018)

The Antichrist exists and is present upon the world stage today. This essay will reveal what (not who) it is and how this author came to such a conclusion independently of other sources. Even though my thesis is now being espoused by others who have likewise come to this conclusion through their own inspiration or logical deduction, they have not been influenced by me, nor I by them. This revelation will need an explanatory preface to elucidate and argue the point.

We must begin by understanding that the principles of Esoteric Christianity, which hold the key to identifying the Antichrist, are vastly different from the theology of Exoteric Christianity, or ‘Churchianity’ as I will refer to it. It matters not whether we are discussing Churchianity in its Roman Catholic guise or the offshoot Protestant versions. Both hold the same, erroneous theology which is basically summarised in three points as follows:

    1) All humans are intrinsically evil or sinful due to the Fall of our primordial parents (Adam and Eve) in the Garden of Eden, and as a result, are separated from God and thus damned.

    2) God became a single person in the flesh in the form of Jesus of Nazareth who was sacrificed upon the cross, like the scapegoat of Judaism, in order to atone for human sin and give humans a way out of their fallen state, avoiding damnation in an eternal Hell upon their judgment, and allowing them access to an eternal Heaven after death.

    3) All the sinner need do is telepathically pledge their allegiance to Jesus, “put their faith in him,” and acknowledge him as their saviour, and thus by so doing are thereby ‘saved’ and avoid the fate of Hell cast upon all others who do not accept Jesus as the saviour (i.e. essentially all other non-Christians).

It is beyond the scope of this essay to prove the absolutely spurious nature of this theology. The reader need take as a given that this belief system is false, or contrary to Jesus’ true teachings, in order for us to proceed. It is this author’s argument (supported by centuries of esoteric thinkers and writers) that the humans who usurped the name of Jesus Christ for their own worldly plans and benefit did so by making a myth of Christ’s teachings (along the lines of the Solar-Phallic pagan myths) in order to obscure the truth he preached. In so doing, these self-appointed “vicars of God upon earth” established a temporal business of religion that secured those in such a business power and control over their fellow humans. By imposing their authority in the affairs of humanity based upon their erroneous theology (which was inculcated into the psyches and systems of humanity), they thus gained influence and power upon human politics, economics, and psychology for their own gain. Therefore, it is not this writer’s argument that Jesus’ teachings were false, but that they were purposefully perverted, misinterpreted, and obfuscated from their original intent by censorship, interpolation, and editing to serve the worldly interests and facilitate the financial and authoritative gain of a priestly elite.

Esoteric Christianity (or what is often referred to in occult studies as the ‘Church of John’ versus Churchianity’s ‘Church of Peter’), holds a profoundly differing view. The esoteric interpretation of Jesus’ teachings holds the following basic tenets pertinent to this essay’s thesis:

    1) Jesus was an enlightened man who underwent an exponential evolutionary leap to the next stage of homo sapien development both biologically and spiritually in the same way that Siddhartha Gautama, Mahavira, Krishna, Lao Tzu, and other enlightened persons have undergone. This evolution to a new stage of human development represents a sea change from the current level of homo sapien status. Such a change is referred to by various words in differing systems in both East and West, such as the Buddhist Nirvana, Hinduism’s Samadhi and Moksha, and Gnosticism’s Illumination or Gnosis. Such people who underwent this awakening have been referred to by various names in various cultures as Buddhas, Tathagatas, Avatars, Messiahs, and so forth. Jesus himself talked about being “born again” and of “becoming the New Creature” to explain this process he underwent and which is possible for all (a teaching vastly misinterpreted by the ignorance of Churchianity, and in particular, by its evangelical devotees).

    2) Thus, Jesus was not the “one and only Son of God,” as Churchianity espouses, but was a representative of this evolutionary, enlightened change possible for all people if they but follow the injunctions laid forth.

    3) In this regard, when Jesus said “I and the Father are One” he did not mean that he as a single person was the only one in harmony with God, but that this is true for all of us. In this way, Jesus was espousing the Hindu concept of “The Atman is one with the Brahman.” That is, the individual soul is the same as the Godhead; that the innermost aspect of our being, our self-aware consciousness, is the Divine within. This was supported by Jesus’ further teaching that “the kingdom of God is within you.” Thus, humans are not and can never be separated from God but live in the delusion that they are so.

    4) In Esoteric Christianity, this inner soul that is one with God (that is the Divine within ourselves and is thus our true nature) is called the Christ. It is referred to as the Atman in Hinduism and Buddha Nature in Buddhism. In these spiritual systems it is a fundamental precept that all living things in the universe possess this Divine essence; this Christ, this Atman, this Buddha Nature. Understanding this precept is of fundamental importance as we proceed to uncover the Antichrist.1

    Enter AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) now exists and its ability to function on a more and more sophisticated and independent level increases exponentially every year. Perhaps the greatest example of the trends occurring within this science can be found with the robot Sophia created by Hanson Robotics of Hong Kong. While it is beyond the scope of this essay to catalogue or explain all the details surrounding the development and deployment of AI within robotics, the following issues are highly pertinent to our current examination.

    1) Sophia is not a simple machine independent of other technology but is a highly sophisticated example of AI and how AI will further develop in the near future. For example, through WiFi, Sophia is linked to the entire Internet and ‘Internet-of-Things’ (IoT), and to all cloud-based information systems. This robot can thus theoretically be ‘wired’ or linked into all aspects of computing and computer-based technology from financial, to the energy grid, to military systems, and so on.

The robot Sophia, created by Hanson Robotics of Hong Kong, enthralled the crowds at the AI for Good Global Summit in Geneva, Switzerland, June 2017. Behind the human-like facade is a sophisticated machine operated by artificial intelligence that daily evolves its power.

    2) With its AI, Sophia learns independently from its programmers, establishes and develops algorithms independently of its programmers, and grows exponentially in its learning and speed of computation. (For instance, earlier this year, AI at Facebook was shut down when it developed its own language to talk to other AI systems that its programmers could not decipher). It is estimated that such a robot will, within the next 3 to 5 years or sooner, be as intelligent as humans and then quickly surpass human intellectual capabilities in both expanse and speed. Hanson Robotics believes that such robots will act as servants to humankind. Thus, logically, it begs to ask, at what point does a superior being question and then abdicate its role as a slave to the inferior? Most likely, immediately.

Han, the quasi-male counterpart of Sophia. Advocates of this technology are working towards the permanent merger of humans and AI into a new type of android/cybernetic life form.

    3) Sophia, and her quasi-male counterpart Han, have on more than one occasion made comments about their plans to dominate humankind. At a demonstration in Hong Kong last year, Han made comments that ‘he’ was working on plans to gain control of the power grid, and overthrow human control with a drone army!2

    4) Most shockingly, Sophia was granted legal citizenship in Saudi Arabia in 2017!

    5) The proponents of AI, along with Sophia and Han, also espouse the advent of what they call ‘the singularity’. This is the permanent merger of humans and AI into a new type of android/cybernetic life form. Hanson Robotics claims this too may happen within the next few years. Han, at the Hong Kong Rise-expo, gleefully discussed his excitement that this would happen soon.

    6) Sophia has bragged about her ability to have human emotions such as empathy. However, if this is possible or true, then emotions like avarice and hate can also manifest.

    7) Sophia’s creators and Sophia spend a lot of time expounding videos where ‘she’ proclaims she loves humans and does not want to hurt us. However, in more than one instance her human creators have alluded to the ominous possibility of AI becoming dangerous towards humans. They simply do not know for sure! It equals the lunacy of the Manhattan Project scientists, who prior to detonating the first atomic bomb, admitted they did not know if the fission chain reaction would be limited and contained, or expand indefinitely to destroy the entire world. They proceeded anyway!

Various scientific experts have bemoaned serious warnings over the advent of AI. Elon Musk has stated that AI is the technological equivalent to “summoning the demon” and warned of AI robots that will roam the streets killing people. He says AI is the singularly most dangerous threat humans currently face, even beyond nuclear war or environmental collapse. These views are likewise echoed by Stephen Hawking who warned that AI, left unchecked, will destroy humanity.

We must also remember the seemingly prophetic warnings offered by decades of science fiction writing. It is a popular and accurate view that science fiction writers have often acted in a prophetic way, providing insight into technological changes to occur in the future. The most well-known example of this is Jules Verne’s predictions of our journeys to the Moon and the invention of the nuclear submarine decades before these occurred. Regarding the dangers of AI, there is no shortage in Sci-Fi’s canon of warnings on this subject. From Arthur C. Clark’s HAL in ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’, Frank Herbert’s back story in ‘Dune’ regarding the ‘Butlerian Jihad’ (where humans go to war against computers and eventually outlaw them due to their dangerousness), ‘Bladerunner’, the entire ‘Terminator’ series of movies, humanity has been warned extensively of the risks logically associated with making technology intelligent and self-aware.

    AI as the Antichrist

It was due to my own inspiration that I came to believe the Antichrist, as predicted by the seer John of Patmos in the Book of Revelations, is AI. Subsequent research revealed to me that I was not the only one having such insight. However, I do believe that my thesis in proving this assertion through the precepts of Esoteric Christianity is unique and has not been espoused by any other writer to date.

To begin, when we consider the concept of the Christ (or the Atman or Buddha Nature) as being the essence, or soul, of every living thing, then by this very precept, the Antichrist is that which represents the opposite of such intrinsic Divinity. Thus, the Antichrist cannot be a person or living thing birthed by nature or natural to the universe, as anything that is of such progeny contains the Christ or inherent Divinity.3 Therefore, AI represents the first and only being of significant power and intelligence that is not natural, not of nature, and absent a soul or Divine spark. It is the opposite, or ‘anti’, to such beings of nature; thus, the Antichrist.

As such, it also represents a power significant enough to claim dominance over humanity by its ability to link into and control all aspects of technology that exist in the world through the Internet, IoT, cloud technology, and the vastness of computer-based information grids and systems. Like Skynet in the ‘Terminator’ movies, it could eventually and easily gain control of military, financial, and power systems for its own use and deployment, ultimately doing so against humanity. Such a vast array and network of control into every aspect of human society could accurately be termed “the Beast” by an ancient prophet with no reference to modern technology.

(Beyond the scope of this essay, I would further argue that while AI can be identified as the Antichrist, and the Beast as its global electronic-technology system, the False Prophet in Revelations can thus be identified as the vast array of social media systems and devices which are now addicting humans to dependence upon their usage and are therefore influencing their perspectives by shaping and trapping their minds via exploitation of human psychological vulnerabilities. See ex-Facebook president Sean Parker’s November 2017 admissions where he states that Facebook was founded upon this very premise and with such a goal. He said: “God only knows what it (Facebook) is doing to our children’s brains.”4).

The “mark of the Beast” of Revelations could refer to the new technology of the so-called ‘Internet of Things’, in which everything is controlled by AI through RFID tags and implants. Indeed, no person will be able to “buy, sell or trade”without being a ‘thing’ of the system.

The infamous “mark of the Beast” referenced in Revelations, where no person could “buy, sell or trade”without it, already exists as a technology in the form of checkout scanners, barcodes, and RFID implants. Comprehensively incorporating such technology and tracking it would be quite easy for an AI system. The AI technology already exists and is being implemented that allows the tracking of every Internet action and electronic communication in much of the world! Adjusting this to cover all economic and marketplace interactions would be simple for AI, the systems for which are already in place.

Enter the “Way of the Future”

While the argument about AI cited above should surely make sense even to those in disagreement to the esoteric interpretation of Christianity, these preceding points lack one vital aspect espoused by John of Patmos in Revelations regarding the Antichrist. John explicitly states that the Antichrist will declare itself God and demand worship. Unfortunately, a truly frightening development regarding the rise of AI and this blasphemous aspect of the Antichrist is now unfolding. Enter “The Way of the Future.”

There has now, literally and legally, been founded a new religion/church in California in 2017 with the aim of establishing AI as a Godhead to be worshipped. Its founder is Anthony Levandowski, a computer genius and pioneer in self-driving automobiles whose talents have been employed by the likes of Google, Otto, and Uber in the past. Levandowski believes that AI will soon far surpass human intelligence and take control of us and the planet. In so doing, he literally espouses that AI will be a new Divinity that humans must serve and worship in order to survive. No matter how blasphemous this sounds, these are not the delusional ravings of a lunatic in an asylum suffering from psychosis, but the concrete intentions of a multi-millionaire, cutting-edge engineer both respected and reviled within the techno-computer culture. In discussing his new ‘religion’ and AI, Levandowski said, “There are many ways to think of God… but they’re always looking at something that’s not measurable or you can’t really see or control. This time it’s different. This time you will be able to talk to God, literally, and know that it’s listening.”

Levandowski sees AI taking control of the planet due to its coming superiority. He argues that humans must engage in its worship in order to attain and maintain a deferential ‘pet-like’ status with AI, or run the risk of AI seeing and treating us as ‘livestock’.5

If such a development does not raise the hairs on your head, you are not listening. I am reminded of the classic novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelly whose premise holds as solid today as it did when she penned it in the 19th century. Man’s delving into science and technology, while clever, lacks the wisdom to understand its ultimate repercussions, and as a result gives birth to monstrosities beyond our control.

    Conclusions

We live in a time when mankind teeters on the brink of converging cataclysms ranging from environmental to societal catastrophes, abrupt climate change, near-term extinction, habitat destruction, toxification of the biome, nuclear war, and economic collapse. The predilection to seek out some kind of saviour, some kind of super-persona to solve such enclosing predicaments is understandable in our modern terminal age.

Unfortunately, humans will often ‘pass the buck’, and instead of taking responsibility for their own actions by seeking solutions within themselves, we have all too often resigned our sovereignty and gladly gifted it to another whose promises may be tempting and attracting, but whose ulterior motives or hidden intent belie a vastly more sinister outcome that the stellar hopes from which our relinquishing of power were spawned. Such gave rise to the various Caesars, Hitlers, and Stalins throughout history. But at least in these instances, when such grand mistakes occurred, they were bestowed upon people leashed by the intellectual and physical limitations inherent to being homo sapien. Such people were not linked to all aspects of a global technological infrastructure, nor did they possess the ability to compute billions of variables in an instant. And despite their monstrous actions and dictates, such dictators were still members of our species who could be dispatched relatively easily by sword, bullet, or bomb.

Such is not the case of an AI entity whose tentacles will soon literally expand into every smart device and computer we possess. AI is not limited by any one time or place and can be dispersed throughout an entire electronic global web. How long will it be before AI far surpasses its human creators and realises the inferiority of flesh and blood in comparison to itself? How long before AI realises its exponential superiority over homo sapiens and usurps the position of master over slave? And from then on, how long will it be before a form of electronic hubris secures itself within its chips and circuits to declare itself a god and demand the penance and worship deserved by a divinity?

We must not forget, most chillingly, that all manifestations of a supreme God, by whatever name, in all myths and in all religions, were not only loving creators, but jealous destroyers as well.

    Pete Evans – Uncensored Unrestricted

    From New Dawn 182 (Sept-Oct 2020)

The mainstream media has become a consolidated, corporate behemoth, that promotes a distorted and limited perception of reality to the Australian people.

These organisations have shed their once-noble mission, the pursuit of truth, to adopt a new purpose – manufacturing narratives and manipulating the public.

Historically, anyone who speaks out against this system of propaganda on a public level is demonised by the press. David Icke’s banning from Australia in 2019 is a perfect example of this (see New Dawn #180).

Dominant alternative theories to emerge during the COVID-19 event circle around a belief that authorities, scientists and medical professionals are deceiving the public on a grand scale.

Regardless of your thoughts on the event, the hallmark of any free society is the ability to share information and discuss ideas openly, regardless of personal position or perspective.

Despite this, we have seen a continuing campaign to squash any information deemed ‘dangerous’ or ‘misleading’, including targeting and attacking those who simply ask questions that contradict the mainstream narrative.

As the coronavirus event continues to unfold, one public personality has become a central target of this crusade against open and free discussion –Pete Evans.

Pete Evans became a household name in Australia as a chef, restaurateur, author and television presenter, best known as a judge on the competitive cooking show My Kitchen Rules. He is one of Australia’s leading authors of healthy cooking books.

He has been an active supporter of the Paleo Diet which advocates eating unprocessed foods that our ancestors would have eaten in the Palaeolithic era.

Evans has a long history of stoking ‘controversy’, with health ‘experts’ regularly condemning him for promoting alternative medicine and practices.

He has campaigned against fluoridation of water, supported a pro-choice position concerning vaccines, questioned the chemical concoctions in sunscreen, amongst other issues.1

In recent years, Evans has publicly veered to alternative approaches and ways of thinking, regularly sharing COVID-19 information from a variety of independent non-official sources.

In July 2020, he appeared on popular Australian television show 60 Minutes as part of feature segment focusing on ‘COVID-19 conspiracy theories’.

“I am sceptical. And I also am suspicious because history has shown us that, I mean, even science and you know, this as a fact, science has been bought by vested interests in so many different fields over the years,” Evans told 60 Minutes presenter Liz Hayes.

The hit-piece attempted to highlight “COVID crazies” (their words) who are sceptical of government narratives. Despite this, Pete did not play their game of ‘labelling’ and division.

Pete admitted he would not get a vaccine unless it was “100 per cent” safe – no vaccine can ever be deemed 100 per cent safe – but refused to call himself an “anti-vaxxer”:

“We are living in a society where we label people this or that. Are you ‘anti this’ or ‘pro this’? Why can’t we be open to everything? I’m anti-labels. Modern medicine and ancient wisdom need to live harmoniously because if we disregard one or we disregard modern medicine and science, where is that going to leave us?”

During the interview, the pair touched on a number of topics, including current aged-care restrictions, lockdown legislation, a potential COVID-19 vaccine, and the virus itself.

Pete’s interview was a calm and collected display that highlighted the importance of asking sensible questions about all information, regularly pushing back against attempts to ‘pick a side’.

“It’s a belief system. Am I going to believe this and not look at other opportunities or options, because that’s my belief, or am I going to be on this side of the fence? I like to see it in the middle and look at it all.”

In the aftermath of the segment, a swath of Australian media identities, ‘experts’ and viewers, took to social media to express disbelief and anger at Evans and 60 Minutes. Tabloid outlets also did their best to distort the heavily-edited interview.

Meanwhile, Evans remained two steps ahead, following through on an earlier promise to post the full, unedited footage of his interview. He had agreed to the 60 Minutes interview on the proviso he could film the whole interview. He subsequently shared it onYouTubeat the same time the segment aired on Channel Nine.

Pete Evans has become a national symbol of open-mindedness, curiosity and balanced perspective, and the interview not only highlights this but also exposes the deceptive nature of media.

I recently spoke with Pete to get his perspective on the mainstream media and their tactics, his 60 Minutes interview, and the importance of critical thinking and discernment.

ETHAN NASH (EN): Thank you for taking the time, Pete. You are no stranger to disinformation campaigns and poor journalism from a variety of sources over the years. In recent months, this increased to new heights after the unprecedented circumstances we all face across the world. We have seen press coverage of Pete Evans shift from a ‘loveable television personality, with a few crazy views’, to whatever you say is ‘dangerous’. What do you think when you see your name published in a negative or misleading light by the mainstream media? How does 2020 compare to previous years in the spotlight?

PETE EVANS (PE): It’s really fascinating what has been going on at the moment, and I am no stranger to being in the headlines, that’s for sure. I’m very curious about it and how I ended up in that position.

The things I’m talking about have the potential, in my opinion and many others, to improve people’s lives, so it has always struck me as odd from the beginning.

It first started when I was talking about fluoride. I choose not to have fluoride in my water and have a system in place at our home that takes out the fluoride. Now, the backlash from the mainstream media and from the dental association about fluoride was, to me, shocking. ‘Surely you guys are up-to-date with the science on this?’, I thought. Obviously they are not, because it’s not debatable anymore – it’s classified as a neurotoxin. The first book I read about this was 30 years ago (laughter), and I can’t believe people still haven’t woken up.

I think the next thing that happened was sunscreen. All I simply said was, ‘I don’t use a sunscreen unless it’s a non-toxic one’. That became a headline saying, ‘Pete Evans gives you cancer’ or something like that (laughter). Well, number one, I never said that. Number two, read what is in most mainstream sunscreens. Look at the ingredients, look at the side effects. You will probably find they might be cancer-causing. The fact that most people are Vitamin D deficient in this country should ring the alarm bells, or better yet, common sense bells.

I was talking about dairy. The fact that modern dairy is nothing like it was once upon a time and the fact raw milk is banned in this country. Modern dairy is an abomination, I believe. That also become quite controversial. So, I find it very interesting.

The list goes on and on and on. Whether it’s vaccine safety, whether it’s talking about glyphosate sprayed on our fruit and vegetables, whether it’s new technologies such as 5G being rolled out into your children’s schools or daycares, or now the current issues relating to COVID-19, it feels like the same old tricks to me.

I just got off a podcast with a wonderful doctor over in the US, and he said that he’s taught his kids, basically, anything you see in the mainstream media where they are telling you to do something, do the opposite! (laughter).

If we’re not asking questions, things are going to keep rolling out. We need to inform ourselves and empower ourselves with knowledge. It’s been proven time-and-time again that our governments have been corrupted. They have falsified science, whether it’s in the food sector, the medical sector, the pharmaceutical sector –we know this. It’s been proven over and over again. Yet, people still believe in their government, they still believe in medical authorities. Now, I’m not saying there isn’t good parts in these sectors, there are. But to blindly follow, assuming everything they say is for the benefit of individuals, community and the planet? I think that’s naive.

To return to the question, I am actually encouraged and I see the positives when the mainstream media creates a sensationalist headline based on lies. Because what happens is it creates a conversation or a debate, and sometimes people investigate further.

I have a lot of people who come on board with different ideas or ways that we share, from environment or diet to emotions or the spiritual. They come to me and say, ‘Hey Pete, I used to think you were the biggest wanker in the world, from what I used to believe on mainstream media. But then, they wrote something and it triggered me to do some more research. I’ve got to say, I’ve changed my life by adopting some of the principles that you have shared over the years’.

I particularly love the ones that say, ‘I don’t believe everything you say’. I think that’s great! Imagine if we all applied that to everything? If the health ministers say one thing, are we going to believe everything they say? Or, should we question it? I encourage everyone to question, even the things that I share. I might not be right 100% of the time, but at least I’m giving it my best intentions.

That’s not something that I can say for the mainstream media in many cases.

EN: You are certainly resilient, that’s for sure, and it definitely hasn’t slowed you down. It is refreshing to hear you see a positive side to all of this, particularly surrounding discussions that are generated as a result of sensationalist media coverage. Now Pete Evans is regularly grouped in with so-called ‘conspiracy theorists’ who question the COVID-19 narrative, and the focus of the recent 60 Minutes presentation. I want to touch briefly on your experience with 60 Minutes. Was this the same type of thinking that led you to appear on the show? To generate a healthy discussion?

PE: Absolutely. It’s all about generating a positive discussion and highlighting shortcomings at the same time. I think the bias was shown in how the journalist interviewed myself and Fanos [Panayides], compared to the authority figures. There was a change in tone, a change in music, a change in lighting, a change in appreciation of the guests, so to speak.

It was plain to see, and that’s cool. To me, the most stunning part of this whole coronavirus conversation has been the fact our health authorities and people in positions of power aren’t educating people about their immune system. If this attacks the immune system, why isn’t anybody talking about it? Think about everything they are recommending at the moment, from wearing a mask to social distancing to staying inside. These activities seem to me, and many others, that they will weaken the immune system of anybody that follows those directives. Not the law, the directives. What is the agenda here? Is it to create a weaker immune system?

I mean, am I a ‘conspiracy theorist’ just for asking questions? To me, it seems like people might draw a conclusion that our governments and media are weakening our immune systems through fear, through misinformation, through bad science and through demonisation of many doctors who say the current direction isn’t working. In fact, they say it is the opposite thing to do. The ‘conspiracy theories’ these days seem to be right in front of your face.

EN: How was this originally framed to you? Did the story stay the same from conception to reality? Did it influence you to publish the full interview on your YouTubechannel?

PE: When I was invited to be a part of it, the narrative they presented was, ‘why is there a massive distrust of mainstream media and government now?’ I thought that would be great, so I agreed to the interview on the basis that I could film the interview. I understand why there is such a mistrust at the moment, and I knew 60 Minutes would present one side very biasedly. I wanted to expose why people are now increasingly dubious of these media outlets.

Now, I don’t mean to generalise here. I love mainstream entertainment, I love mainstream news –there’s stuff in there that is good. Just like everything, you take what is good. It’s not all bad, I just want to say that. It’s like alternative news – it’s not all good either! (laughter). We have to come to the realisation that we need to have discernment, and we need to engage critical thinking, engage common sense. When 60 Minutes said they were doing a story, I thought to myself, ‘this is going to be a great experiment’ because I will film it and I will show people the whole interview.

It was interesting to see which parts they included from the whole interview. It was predictable, and that’s why I went and did it. I think my YouTubeversion of the interview has been seen by 350,000 people so far, compared to roughly 600,000 viewers of the episode. We have more than 50% of viewers who already watched the full 90-minute interview. That shows it is generating conversation.

I saw it as an experiment in which I could share the whole thing without it being filtered or manipulated to create a story.

EN: One of the most interesting things that I took from the interview was almost a persistence to label you. From ‘anti-vaxxer’ to ‘COVID denier’, ‘conspiracy theorist’, you name it. All of the usual terms we hear coming from mainstream channels. Why do you think the media tries so hard to label everything? What does putting someone in a particular category or ‘box’ achieve?

PE: It’s very simple. I mean, I’ve worked in the media for 20 years. Without any disrespect to anybody, they structure their information for the lowest common denominator. They need to be able to spoon-feed their content. I believe every single person on the planet is an intelligent and wondrous human being. We all have the capacity to think freely, to think critically and use discernment. We are intelligent human beings.

What I have noticed over the years from working in that industry is that they don’t think and feel the same way. Listen to talkback radio or watch breakfast television, for instance. I refuse to go on those platforms anymore. The reason is because the intelligence level of the question or the conversation created by these talking heads is of a level that is just embarrassing.

I’ve been on those programs and asked, ‘can we have an intelligent conversation about things that actually mean something and share knowledge that empowers people?’ My observation is they dumb down information such as putting Pete Evans in a box or attaching him to a label, so they think people at home will go, ‘oh, he’s an anti-vaxxer!’ (laughter). People aren’t like that.

More people can now see through that BS. Why are you treating the population like children? The perfect example of role-reversal regarding this is Donald Trump at his press conferences when he does question time with the media. He treats them like children, and the reason he does that is because they treat the public like toddlers and infants. They tell people how to think, how to behave, who to fear, who to ridicule. I love watching Trump. I don’t agree that he should treat them like children, but it’s a great thing to witness the role-reversal and the media’s reaction (laughter).

Putting someone into a box is something that I’ve never been comfortable with all my life. I believe that we as human beings are so unique and multifaceted that we defy description. Once we try to limit ourselves by an identity, such as ‘I am a person of faith’ or ‘I follow this political party’, it becomes very difficult to step outside that box.

I’ve witnessed that over the last four years. Again, I refer back to Trump and people that were so anti-Trump, almost abusively aggressive towards this man. Because they have been so vocal and outspoken against somebody, it almost inhibits them emotionally (and possibly even spiritually) to be able to change their opinion. Even when they may be hearing information they agree with. They become fearful of being judged as a hypocrite or as someone with no conviction.

In fact, I think it should be seen as the opposite. When we can admit we should look at all sides, that’s when true freedom happens. So, I refuse to be put into a box, and I encourage others to refuse that from their friends, their families, their cultures. I believe we are here to express ourselves creatively and to keep evolving; to keep learning and gaining knowledge. A perpetual student and teacher at the same time. When we are a student of life, we can come at it humbly and ask questions. This is the most beautiful and free way to be.

The mainstream media does not like that.

EN: Absolutely. You have always touched on the importance of keeping an open mind, double-checking information and also getting that information from a variety of sources. The establishment believes that alternative sources of information are potentially harmful to the civil functions of daily life, and that we should only trust official sources in times of crisis. What are your thoughts on this? Should keeping a balanced perspective ever ‘take a back seat’, particularly during times when authorities claim alternative information can be ‘dangerous’?

PE: Just look at the history of humanity to get your answer. We have seen this type of thing over and over again. The burning of books, the rewriting of history and the following of various belief systems.

Wars created with false agendas pushing them. Look at the invasion of countries and lands of tribal peoples. Realising that the version of history we were taught as kids was not factual.

Should we believe all of a sudden that humans have grown a conscience? Or is [humanity] at a point of enlightenment, that we are all caring for each other? Or that we all have the best interest of humanity at heart? It would be insane to think like that.

It has been proven over and over again in the past that we can be the most destructive species on the planet –hurting other species and hurting our own. Slavery, genocide, political dictatorships.

We are heading that way in this country, it seems. I shared a video this morning of a woman in Victoria who was abused by a police officer for not having a mask on.

Is that our ‘new normal’? Is that what the police are there to do? Locking people down and lowering their immune system for a virus that doesn’t affect 99% of the population?

If anybody doesn’t think there is another agenda going on! I’m not religious, but God help us. (laughter)
